Kansas City Chiefs President Carl Peterson announced on Tuesday that the club had released DE Vonnie Holliday.
“Vonnie and his agent knew that in his initial contract with the Chiefs that the large roster bonus coming due this week would probably preclude his continuation with the Kansas City Chiefs,” Peterson said. “We appreciate Vonnie’s efforts both on and off the field while in Kansas City and wish him success in the future.”
Holliday (6-5, 290) played in nine games (three starts) for Kansas City in 2004, recording 13 tackles (nine solo), four QB pressures and two passes defensed. The Camden, South Carolina product joined the Chiefs as a free agent on April 7th of 2003.
