Bruschi hospitalized

Still looking for a link, but all over the radio here...
Teddy Bruschi, the Patriots hard nosed but well liked middle linebacker, has been hospitalized. Reports seem to indicate that he may have had a stroke.
I'll hope for the best. He is a class act, who deserves only good things. Keep him in your prayers.

There's something on ESPN.com...apparently Bruschi's gonna be fine. It is scary though.

I really never thought anything about Bruschi until late this season. He is one hell of a player and also a class act.
Hope all goes well with him.

Ok maybe I'm dense but isn't he young to have something like that happen? I hope it was just a scare and nothing more.

You can liken a stroke to a "brain attack" as opposed to a "heart attack". These things can happen to anyone. It's as simple as a blood clot, kiddo.

I'm glad to hear Bruschi is doing fine. He's an animal on the field!!!
What was startling about the article to which Boss posted the link was the following:
He also played in last weekend's Pro Bowl in Hawaii for the first time.
I cannot believe this guy had not made the Pro Bowl in previous years. Unbelievable! 
It goes to show how much of a popularity contest Pro Bowl "voting" has become.

A team source had told the Globe yesterday that Bruschi was found to have a leaking blood vessel in his brain, which is one type of stroke, and that his football future was unknown.
The Patriots said Bruschi could be released from the hospital as early as today.

Oh no I hope this doesn't end his career. What a horrible thing to have happen so soon after the end of the season.

Bruschi out of hospital after stroke, but career is uncertain

A stroke didn't keep Tedy Bruschi hospitalized for long. The question now is whether it will keep him off the field for the New England Patriots.
The popular linebacker was released yesterday from Massachusetts General Hospital after spending two days there recovering from a mild stroke that caused numbness, blurred vision and severe headaches.
Bruschi, 31, waved and smiled but didn't comment to reporters as he stepped into a waiting sport-utility vehicle and was driven away.
Patriots spokesman Stacey James did not respond to questions about whether Bruschi would be able to play football again.
Experts say his return will depend on the stroke's cause and severity. A mild stroke isn't necessarily career-ending for a professional athlete, but the risk is higher for someone who takes the punishment of an NFL linebacker.
Doctors pointed to Bruschi's quick release from the hospital, along with reports that he was walking and talking normally a day after the stroke, as signs that he may be able to continue his career. Still, his prognosis remains uncertain because all strokes cause some level of brain damage and can raise fears of a recurrence.
Experts said it could be weeks before doctors pinpoint the stroke's cause, and Bruschi's professional future won't be any clearer until they do

It's hard to believe that a player could have even a "minor" stroke and play again. This is more than a concussion, which bad enough.
If that's the case, then I'll say now that Teddy Bruschi was a great player. Hats off, three cheers, three rings.
