Anybody have any highlights on Mike Williams? Pictures?
Just want to see what this guy really looks like.
If we do pick a WR in the first round, it should be this guy. He's going to be another Roy Williams, if not better.

He doesn't have great speed, but he is real strong and is tall. Can hep him alot.
He will be good... I don't know if I want him or not, though. Not sure why.

Man he is one big dude.... Imagine being a 5'10", 180 pound cornerback trying to tackle him... We seriously need to get Mike Williams

We say hiney

. Or, we hide the word in something like Dallass Cowboys or Texass Longhorns.
(Since I maybe insulted some Longhorn fans here, you can use this word, "Arkansuck". Have to level the playing field.)

I actually read somewhere that he recently ran a 4.43/40 and has slimmed down to 220 lbs. This is the man to draft. I have a strong fear that the Bears are going to ruin it for us. I went to a Bears message board and they are overwhelmingly wanting Mike Williams. Most draft rankings have Braylon Edwards as the best WR in the draft. I hope that suckers the Bears into taking Braylon.

If Mike Williams is running a 4.43 then the only way we'll get him is if we trade up which I wouldn't be opposed to since he WILL become a perennial pro bowler in the league. BOOK IT

I am not really that surprised about the 4.43 coming out... he has certainly never looked remotely slow on the field before. As I have said a couple of times before (and by my number of posts you can tell I don't voice my opinion all that much) Mike Williams is a player that is incredibly gifted.
He has done none nothing but produce at the highest level and immediately made USC's offense a force. The year before he was there the team struggled. He began by becoming their number 1 target as a true freshman, taking that spot from Kolbert of the Panthers and never relinquished it and then went on to help them win a share of the National Championship.
You can look at all the numbers that you want but what impressed me the most about this guy is that he became the unquestioned number 1 reciever on the team immediately ahead of a player that (1) went on to be drafted in the second round; (2) was three classes ahead of him; and (3) had one of the better years as a rookie wide reciever in the NFL this past season. That is what defines him to me as a true playmaker more than his size (great), speed (much better than it has been made out to be: 0.1 - 0.2 seconds in a straight line w/o pads over 40 yards means very little to me), or catching ability (best asset).
If anyone cannot tell... I would love to draft this guy, I would have liked to watch him play last year - but maybe the year off is what will let him fall to our spot so in that regard it may just be a good thing.

I can definitely see Williams, Coles, and Thrash on the field. Just think about it:
In the air: Williams & Coles
On the ground: Portis & Portis
Defenses would go crazy! The only thing that might not work if we do get Williams, is the QB. Right now I believe Ramsey will be able to handle it, but if he's injured then we're totally screwed. Why? We all know that Booonelll will play instead of Hasselbeck which means HELL for the Redskins.

BTW, other than Williams, Edwards, and Clayton, who else is there that's a definite #1 or #2 WR? (As you can tell, I don't really pay attention to college athletes)

Didn't you see that catch he made one handed at the end of the '03 season? He caught it up high and never even used a second hand or another part of his body.

Unfortunately not. I don't know what I was doing back then.

Cause someone stole his stapler :0)
This kid is going to be a superstar in the NFL. He's got nothing but upside!

Take it from a guy who watched all his games, has met him in person, and is form So. Cali. if we pass up on this guy we've mad a big mistake. He's been working this whole year and he's increased his speed since being in football. He's been working with some ex NFL Players who train guys to get ready for the season. He's running about a 4.3-4.35 40yd dash from the reports. He'll be the #1 receiver to go. I think that he should be the #1 guy. I think that San Fran might take him and get Garcia back. But that's just my 2 cents.

No, San Fran won't get garcia. Garcia is going to Boston so he and Brady can be legally married.

SF would be smart to hire him. What's the word on a head coach in SF? I LOVE Mike Williams - but in a good way :0).

I hate to ask but what would it be to LOVE HIM in a bad way? First, Smithian and now you...
... I mean -you- Scooter? Say it ain't so.
But seriously, I feel we might need Rolle on our 9th pick. Have you noticed that M. Williams has not made the top 10 picks in several mock drafts?

Hey Redskin in Canada,
I really don't think we need another player for the defense. We're fine back there with SSprings, STaylor, and MBowen. Even if Smooty doesn't come back!
We need a WR who can run and catch!!! Mike Williams is the answer, now that we know that JGibbs doesn't want Burress or Muhammaaaaad

We need a WR with our first rounder. There is no way we should waste a #9 overall pick on a CB while this "illegal contact" crap is going on. I personally feel that Walt Harris can step in and be solid at the #2 spot. It's not like he is a back-up. He was a starter for the Colts.

I suspect that M. Williams may go -before- our 9th pick. In that case, you would fill-in your greatest need with the most valuable player available: Rolle.
But I would agree that you can trade down to get more picks for a DE and OL...
Quite frankly, I feel that one of our biggest needs is at CENTER.

There's some good centers in FA this year. Hopefully we will fill that need March 2nd.

I suspect the Skins may trade down if Williams is gone... at least I hope so.
