Are we supposed to beleive that the few hundred people that surround the stage during one of the performances are ACTUALLY enjoying it so much that they are jumping up and down and dancing like that?

Probably not but wouldn't excited to just BE at the Super Bowl?

I believe the middle aged women jumping up and down to see Paul McCartney were genuinely excited. Must have brought back some good memories of the 70's.

Hey, being a middle aged man, I enjoyed this a helluva lot more that the crap from last year. Just remember, it's been pushing 40+ years since the Beatles and they (well what's left of them) stand the test of time.

Rock ON!!!!!

can't we just have football highlights at halftime, instead of trying to entertain? wouldn't that make more sense? is that not entertainment enough?

I will gladly put up with any Halftime entertainment if the get rid of the 4hour+ pregame schlok! And while they're at it, please get rid of Collingsworthless!!!!!!

agreed totally. whats the point in all of it though? i thought gametime was 6 pm? it took till 6:45 to get things started because of the "extras". just do the regular stuff before, and if you want to drag halftime out for 45 mins, then at least let it pertain to football. why is it that bs music, and glam has to be involved? i tuned in to watch football. why does it have to be anything else?

money.... notice the hundreds of commericials during the pre-game show... and the tons of advertisements/sponsers... guaranteed a huge majority of people interested in the Super Bowl atleast had there channels tuned to the pre-game show most of the time...

it's all about the benjamins.....

Paul, Janet, N'Sync, Kid Rock... who are they catering to here? It's football! I think it everyone would be happy if there was a short routine by Kiss or AC-DC every year for halftime.

 To tell this story for the millionth time, the man was drunk. Had he been the real Santa, full of holiday cheer and not cheap wine, he would have had at least a nice round of applause.

Anyone else have some 40 year old stories they'd like to share?

Wasn't the guy also 19 years old?

Glen Macnow (i assume you know who he is GF) also told me that the snowballs were thrown patially "playfully" and that Howard Cosell blew it out of proportion.

But it's still my favorite Philthy story :)
