My Matt Jones Topic

Since I have been spamming other topics with stuff about him, I have decided to put it here. Here are the things I already put;

6'6, 237, runs a 4.4, and is known to stiff arm linebackers.

Also, he has massive hands and would be a good replacement for Rod Gardner on the trick play, even.

Plus, he could be an emergency QB in the case Ramsey and Brunell are both hurt and Timothy is not around any more.

Matt Jones is just... A wow player. He was close to going to OU to be a WR when he came out of High School, but as soon as the Razorbacks glanced at him, he bit and we got the SEC's All-Time leading rusher for a QB.

I have seen him a few time be carrying a D-Lineman then just throw the ball like he had no problem whatsoever. I mean, he did things I couldn't believe.

If I can, I'll post the video of his run verse Alabama for a TD.

In my section at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback stadium we nicknamed it the "Got 'im, Got 'im... D***, don't got him!" touchdown run after seeing the faces of alabama players arguing over who should of got him on the big screen.

Plus, he was ok in baketball and was very rarely winded even in basketball.

Ok... Matt Jones does run a 4.4.

I mean, I used to think he ran about a 4.2 when I first watched him actually run.

Also, like I said, he is big. He could be a quick blocker, you know. Motion him into the righ spot, he can block.

Also, we could do some motion, snap it, give it to himm, and he would be an ok trick play once or twice a year.

No, no, no!

Matt Jones will probably never be an NFL QB. I mean, that is just the thoughts about him in Arkansas.

He himself speaks about himself as an NFL WR.

Here is a video of Matt Jones running with a terrible hamstring injury;

Here he is verse Auburn's very good defense this year; http://oinkville.tripod.com/jones54.mpeg

Here is near amazing bootleg verse Texass in 2003; http://oinkville.tripod.com/mjtexas.wmv

Here is his 70 yards and a dunk run verse Ole Miss; http://oinkville.tripod.com/jones70.wmv

Also, that was Matt Jones's only time over to get an unsprtsmanlike after a TD.

I wanted to start this to note something; Matt jones has been in camp lately in New Jersey somewhere and has put on enough weight to get up to 250 pounds... Only muscle. Helps reaffirm some Cowboy pro scout(Jerry Jones always sends his scouts up to Fayetteville to scout our guys and help them get their names on the market. I like him as a Razorback fan, hate him as a Redskins fan.)idea that he might be a big receiving TE.

Boy that guy has some burst and speed for a tall lanky QB!

That is why he needs to do what he is doing; lifting weights.

Are you his agent? If you are, congratulations!

One question: Can he catch a few passes?

He caught a few passes in the Spring Game. Caught a LONG TD at point in the Spring game.

I am just broadcasting him.

250 lbs? Are you sure man? He's got the frame to carry it, but seems heavy for him. Sounds like he could be trying to work at TE. Maybe a possession type - Eddie McCaffrey WR?
I was thinking Safety before the 250lbs... hope he gets a shot.

Scooter, it'll make him better. He'll lose just a tad bit of his quickness and maybe some of the 4.4 flat speed, but he could prbably use strenght a bit now.

Someone today said he could be an Antonio Gates... I don't think he'll be that good.

I've watched Matt Jones kill my Gamecocks and I think he is more than athletic enough for the TE spot in the NFL after a year of learning the position, kind of like Antonio Gates.

Never heard or seen this guy play but his physical tools seem impressive

I've seen him play six times. He's a very good athlete. That Arkansas team was pretty fun to watch too. They'll have some other guys drafted - some higher than Jones I think.

Scooter, maybe Aarion Dixon, the SEC's best run stopper for two years, but I doubt it will be Jeb Huckeba. Poor guy is good, but he is a tweener.

Noone else, though.

Hopefully they'll have good workouts to show the scouts. Know anything about a Pro Day in Arkansas yet?

Not much pro talent here. I don't think there will be a big one, if there is one at all.
