I feel he makes the most sense at number 9 he instantly fills smoots spot and probably will be better and he has chemistry with with taylor plus miami players are almost never a bust and he has his brother as a mentor who has had little to no problems while in the NFL i think if mike williams is not avaible we go with antrelle he gonna be a star

Would he happen to be the brother of Samari Rolle, the CB for the Titans?

ok. i have to agree with parcells on the CB issue. with the new rules in place, a good corner is NOT as important as a pass rush. not sure if any DE's are actually worth the #9 overall, but, the theory does make since. if the qb doesn't have time to throw, the shut down corner is then practically useless. i think any team that wants to shut down the pass, should invest heavily in a front four, and a damn good D-coordinator. we've already got the coordinator. My 2 cents

I hope so, not saying relation is any indication of talent. But Samari is a good CB! Hopefully his 'brother' would perform just as well for us. :)

No, we need help on the line, offense and defensive end, we need help in the recieving core, and we need a Te like Donnie Warran, and a short yardage back. Everyone so upssed with corners, we have had great ones supposedly for ten years and it hasn't done us jack. You don't need great corners if you have a good pass rush. We have Springs, Walt Harris, and two good young ones in Rufus Brown and Wilds. Give them a shoot before you draft one. We have bigger needs than corner. I would say if Williams isn't available, draft a De and if there isn't one worth the ninth pick than draft the Te out of Virgina to team up with Cooley, if he is 265 or 270. If not trade down.

With GW scheme's Rolle at 6-1 202 lbs. would fit perfect and has the speed to keep up with most WR although they will throw a flag if you breath on one

that was my whole point. springs led the ENTIRE team in sacks with 5. imagine if GW had a pass rush too work with.

your pass rush is truly sad when a corner leads the team in sacks.

If we could trade down (stay in the 1st) and pick up a 2nd rounder and still get one of these 3
DE David Pollack SR 6-2/261/- Georgia Lithonia, GA
DE Marcus Spears SR 6-4/295/- LSU Baton Rouge, LA
DE Dan Cody SR 6-5/265/- Oklahoma Ada, Ok

Then we'd be set on the D-line if we resign the young guys that are free agents

DE Justin Tuck JR 6-5/261/- Notre Dame Rockford, AL won't be a bad pick late in the 1st

I want a WR or a DE, not a CB.

there is too much talent at DE though. We can afford to trade our thrid and a second next year to pick up a second this year. Draft rolle in the first and draft whoever drops out of the DE's in the second. I mean shoot, didn't the patriots pick up that good dt with the last pick of the 1st round. Forget his name. But good DE's will drop to the second round, and that's where we should pick them up

 We don't have a 2nd pick.

If we could trade down with some team and pick up a late 1st rounder and a second round pick I would be ecstatic. We could pick up DE Justin Tuck, and in the 2nd round we could get us a Center or a WR

This is just my (un)professional opinion.

I think that we should trade down and try to get more picks to bolster up both of our lines. However, if we lose Smoot and aren't able to engineer a worthwhile trade down, then I think that Antre Rolle is the best guys we could get at the number nine position. I see too many teams get burned by picking up D-Linemen in the top of the first round to want to make the same mistake. The top of the first round this year is weaker than most, so teams may not be as willing to trade up into the top ten. If we can't trade down then I think Antre Rolle is our best bet.

If we do manage to resign Smoot then I think it becomes even more important to trade out of that top ten spot.

I think we should let Smoot go, trade out of the top 10, and sign Ken Lucas. I know, we need to build character, and not have a big free agency splurge like the last 3 years. But Lucas is just as good as Smoot, and had a great year. He has chemistry with Springs and would not require an $11 million signing bonus. We would save on cap room.

so we just sign an additional cb hopefully ken lucas and a good wr (plaxico burress) and a good DE reggie Hayward from broncos.then draft erasmus james in the first round.however i would rather trade out of the first round and pick up a second rounder this year and a second rounder next year.then draft david bass who is both a guard and center and then draft another lineman hopefully Elton brown in the second round as well. Then draft the best players available a s well as someone who can fit in our offensive and defensive schemes as well.preferablly a CB in the 4th rounds.
2nd round-elton brown or 1st round-erasmus james

2nd round-david baas
3rd round-cb
and we got 2 2nd rounders in 2006.

just something else to throw out there.

I do not want to repeat another of my posts in this thread:

http://www.the-hogs.net/forum/viewtopic. ... 5d2#110354

I like Rolle IF he is available at #9. Otherwise we can trade down and get two picks. I like David Baas C/G Michigan.

I say we trade down. I'd rather have 2 above average players than one superstar.

I think that we need to draft a receiver with our first round pick, unless both Edwards and Williams are picked before then. We only have 1 starting caliber WR on our roster and Coles was bothered by the toe injury all year so who knows how effective he will be next season. Imagine if he has more problems with that toe....we would have Gardner and Jacobs as our two starting wide recievers, by far the the worst starting combo in the NFL. If Coles was 100% healthy I would say pick a DE, Rolle, or trade down, but Coles is obviously not healthy and who knows if he'll ever be 100% again.

If Keyshawn and Chad are related, than Samari and Keyshawn are related.

Keyshawn and Chad are cousins.

How about we sign Smootie and trade him and a 2006 pick to the Vikes for Randy Moss?

Then we take Rolle with the #9 pick to fill Smoot's spot.

I don't want Moss, but if Smoot is as good as gone maybe we should franchise him and trade him for another draft pick.

Moss is a baller, and if anyone can straighten him out its Joe Gibbs. Mike Tice should not be an NFL head coach and I think Moss knows it.

If someone could reign him in he could be a Hall of Fame type WR...and if anyone can do it, Coach Gibbs can.

But throw out any far-fetched Randy Moss trade talks. I really think that Antrell Rolle is the best guy available in this draft at cornerback and that he is the guy we should take if we stay put at #9.
