Smoot a Smoothie?

I cannot believe talks about Smoot leaving the Redskins are actually popping up. How can a player with so much love and passion for the burgany and gold even think of this? Out of all of the players, I think Freddy is our acclaimed leader. He talks the talk but backs it up with this play.

I cannot imagine us losing Smoooooot!!!! It cannot be true. Seems like it is just the agent fooling around with the organization. Will the real Fred Smoot please stand up and tell us the truth?

Was he just acting smooth? Is there a  inside of him?

Because his "friends" C. Bailey and Neon Dion are trying to instill in him an even greater love for green ($) instead.

Well if I went to work and got a bruised kidney and had to face the posibility of paralysis or even death each time I "clocked in" I would sure want the most $ I could get at once.
That being said, Freddy has to realize to be part of this team he is going to have to give up a few million because there a 53 other guys doing the same thing he is and many of them for a lot less money.
I had a chance to speak to Freddy after the SF game and told him jokingly he'd better sign up 'cause you can feel the wind of change comming to the 'Skins and they will be serious contenders next year. He laughed and said they were working on it.
He signed my Taylor jersey too!
Come back Freddy or...thanks for the memories.

Smoot will be back. His deal hit a snag. But the two sides will meet somewhere in the middle.

In 05 you will here the crowd chanting Smoooooooooooooooooooooot !!!

they better not meet Smoot in the middle. They offered top 10 money, if they give him top 5, I'll be pissed, cause that will likely mean Pierce ia gone...

Pierce will be back for sure, they will sign him before Smoot.... bank on that. No pun intended. Cool

Smootie isn't the first guy ever to buckle under peer pressure.
Let's hope he comes around to Joe's way of thinking.
If you have an offer of a ten million dollar signing bonus, how badly do you need another four ?

I hate to say it, but I'd rather see Smoot get paid than give silly money to Antonio Pierce. I like Pierce alot, but I'm not sure you couldn't stick another LB in Williams' system and get results.

I think the $10 mil is too much for Smoot. I like the guy, but think paying him like a top 10 corner is going too far.

Pay Smoot whatever he wants, he is a premiere corner in this league and if goes to the Eagles we are going to hear about it for years to come

We'll keep them both.

Smoot should be payed 4.5 million or somethin....he's not for 10 million!!!! Thats just way to much. As much as I like him, the cap will not support his Deon like wishes.

What makes you think the Eagles are in the market for a cornerback?

I think 650k is not all that much. He deserves a bit more. Contract update time!

And I doubt he'd go to the Eagles. Out of 31 other teams beside the Redskins, why would he pick them? :?

The Eagles and Skins love swapping players. Next year I think you guys get Kalu again.

I'll take ND back, any day. He'd do for us like Trotter did for you. I'm sure of it. Anyway, I keep waiting for somebody to kick my ass on the point I keep bringing up; In today's WR-protecting NFL, how important is it to have a physical CB as opposed to a LB like Pierce ?
I'd say, gun to my head, sign Pierce before Smoot. Especially since you don't know what's going on with Barrow and Lavar.

You took the words right out of my mouth. I'd pick Kalu up in a heart beat for quality depth and for the flexibility he'd bring us in our schemes.

I'd sign Peirce over Smoot too.
