Should Ramsey play this week?

Considering all of the punishment he's been put through, and considering the fact that he hasn't been able to practice much at all this week, if you want my My 2 cents , I think I would rather have Hasselbeck starting for the Skins with Ramsey waiting in the wings as a "back-up" against the Fins. Hasselbeck should be okay and, if not, Ramsey can come in then.

Who knows! If Hasselbeck does well, perhaps Ramsey can take a full week off to recover.

Again, just my My 2 cents

At 4-6, our chances of a playoff hope are glim. Without Patrick we will inevitably fall to 4-7.

So from this season's point of view... benching Ramsey to allow him to heal could be viewed as throwing in the towel on the season. (if he's actually OK to go and we just held him for 'precautionary reasons')

That's the only negative to benching him.

IMO, this guy is too important to this franchise to even consider playing him in a 4-6 season if it's going to cause him any further injury to the foot.

So I agree.

The funny thing is... bringing in Hasselbeck could actually be a good thing for this offense if the ole ballcoach excepts that he MUST change his gameplan if P-Ram can't go. When a backup has to come in... teams always tend to run the ball more often. This offensive line could use a game of heavy run blocking to get all their anxiety out. And I don't mean just run blocking occasionally, I mean a gameplan where the line goes in knowing that they're going to be doing the smashing this week. Not too many linemen PREFER to be going backwards in pass protection as opposed to forwards (hopefully) in run-blocking.

It all starts on the line. And until this unit can start performing well in all facets of the game, it won't matter who's at QB. They will just be a casualty.

Even John Simon will be able to get 4 YPC if he can run in to the backs of a hog-like push from the meat & potatoes. Considering our injury sitch... it's as good a chance to win as any.

If he's well enough, I say play him.

If it's going to make his foot worse... why add to an already disappointing season?

I'm glad to see we're on the same page in regards to benching Ramsey, Boss. This man is in my eyes an investment in the future of this franchise. He has nothing left to prove in regards to his toughness, and not much left to learn at his level of understanding for a second year QB (you can always learn more, but I think he's progressed well throughout the season.) Besides, we need a back-up that has some experience and some skills, for when Ramsey does get injured (times like now.) What better time to work on them when things are in the toilet. IMHO
