Washington at Dallas
Dallas ROG Andre Gurode vs. Washington LDT Cornelius Griffin
Gurode played so poorly against the Eagles last week that he was benched for three drives in the middle of the game before returning to action. While he will continue to start, he'll have trouble handling Griffin, who is the Redskins' best defensive linemen.
Gurode doesn't have great lateral mobility, and he tends to have trouble sliding with athletic one-gap defenders in protection. Griffin isn't the most explosive defensive tackle in the league, but he flashes the ability to shoot gaps, and he's quick enough to beat Gurode off the ball. He also does a good job of staying active and will make it difficult for Gurode to sustain his blocks.
If Griffin can dominate this matchup on first and second downs, the Redskins should have little trouble keeping RB Julius Jones under wraps.
