Ray Lewis is 3 games away from proving the "Madden Cover Jinx" was BS!

Not true... George had a great year during his cover jinx, but flopped in the playoffs....

VERY "true", George had his worse year in 2001, 939 yards with a 3 yard avg. Compare 2001 to every other year, not including this one.

those stats where the year after he was on the cover.... Since Madden comes out early (example: The newest is Madden 2005, but it's still 2004) His cover was Madden 2001, but it was really 2000, so his stats during the year he was on the cover are from the year 2000.... but they say that the jinx originally started when he sufferred a concussion in a playoff game during the 2000-2001 playoffs, which I believe he got knocked out of and the Titans ended up losing... so... Ray-Ray could still muck it up in the playoffs, and keep the curse alive.....

Didn't they switch the way the years line up???? I know they did with the MLB games (not sure when). Why would they put him on the cover after his worst year???
Just trying to figure it out.....I thought he had a great 2000 season, so he went on the cover of 2001 and did crappy, then 2001 Culpepper did OK, so they put him on 2002 & in 2002 Culpepper had his worst year with a 75.3 QB rating. Faulk did great in 2002, so he went on 2003, in 2003 he got hurt & had a bad year, no???? Then I think they swtched the year line up! Vick had a great 2002, was on the cover of 2004, but got hurt in 2003!

Here's the short story.... The Titans & Eddie George played in Superbowl XXXIV Jan. 30, 2000.... Sometime in the summer of 2000 Madden 2001 came out with George on the cover... he continued to play that year and had a good season until the playoffs where it wasn't a concussion but this happened:
Then there was the battle between Lewis and Tennessee running back Eddie George, his fellow all-Pro, who jawed at each other after almost every play. Lewis won the war when he wrested a pass from George with 6:41 left in the game and took it 50 yards for his first career TD.

This is were the "experts" say his jinx started... then the following season he went on to have the worst year of his career, but that was the year Culpepper was on the cover... The George Argument is a weak one because nothing happen to him until that playoff game... but when Marshall Faulk went down while he was on the cover... thats about the time the jinx "myth" started surfacing and they had to dig up something for George...
So again... if we're following the myth rules... Lewis can still blunder in the playoffs and keep the curse alive....
