The Robinson and Royster picks make much more sense than the Helu and Paul picks.

NFL Network just slammed us hard for not acquiring a QB.
Damn right. Stupid decision to pass on Mallett. Guess we needed an 18th WR.

Well, if you don't think there's a QB worth acquiring, why would you bother? My hunch is that Jake Locker might be the only one they were high on, and once he was off the board, then it was time for plan B.

I think lessons were learned last season. If your QB isn't there, don't get somebody and make him fit. Shanny's QB of the future might still be in college next season. If he has any Luck, he might be in a position to finagle his way into getting him.
Also, there is free agency to shore up the QB situation if a short term solution is needed.

I don't understand all the WR picks. I would think Santana would come back. Armstrong showed the ability to stretch the field. We need OL depth and have drafted zero.
May be Shanny knows something we don't. May be Selvish Capers and Erik Cook are going to step up.

Exactly, if you don't like any of the QBs you don't just take one to take one. On another note, maybe Shanny thinks he has something in Beck??? maybe as a stopgap??

Romeus is still available as well. Definitely worth a look here in the 7th.

I love Moss but maybe it is time to move on. I'd rather go after a slightly cheaper and younger Santonio Holmes if you want that type of explosive players (and Holmes can make redzone plays)
But lets see if the Shanahans and Co. have better instincts on a WR then Vinny. I've seen Hankerson plenty of times and he should be able to play immediately.

Notable free agent o linemen (don't know their free agent sit in an uncapped year).
Ryan Harris - T TB - Shanny drafted him
Davin Joseph - G Den - Allen drafted him
These guys and other might be why we aren't drafting OL and Capers and Cook might be better than what is available on Day 2.

There is very definitely a theme of stocking DB/WR/RB today. Wow...

Brandyn Thompson
The 2010 All-WAC second-teamer parlayed that experience into 13 career interceptions, 146 tackles, eight of which went for a loss, and 16 passes defended. His extended playing time, however, has not changed the fact that he's undersized and will struggle to match up with bigger-bodied receivers on the outside. But at the end of the day, he's talented enough to make the roster of a patient club needing help on special teams, but seeing him with potential as a nickel corner and spot starter.

Thompson has the instincts, initial quickness, hands, mentality and special teams experience to be a productive sub-package defensive back in the NFL. Not blessed with size or top-end speed to hold up on an island or become a full-time starter. Does a good job in underneath man coverage, pressing at the line, jumping routes and making plays on the ball. Is comfortable and effective in zone coverage. However, does not have the length or deep speed to run with vertical threats down the sideline. Will help out against the run, is a sound tackler in the open field, but has difficultly getting off blocks. Late-round prospect.
