One can go back and forward all we want on this argument. But the two receivers had great and even comparable statistics. Why are two receivers so similar on paper treated so differently?

Not having Art Monk in the HOF is a great injustice to him, the Redskins, and, ultimately, the game and the fans.

I agree. But for every Art Monk you guys have, we have a Bob Hayes and/or a Charlie Harris.

Most of the response you get from us Cowboy fans is because many a Cowboy has been snubbed in the HOF voting. We know how you feel.

Monk ended his career coming down with catch #940 as an Eagle, on that unforgiving Vet "turf".
Not as a member of a "bad Jets team".
He went to the one place that said, "Hey...we'll give you a shot at a starting job, which the Redskins were unwilling to offer you."
He won that job handily.
Oh, by the way. #940 ? He broke his arm on that play. Ended his season, and his career.
Held onto the ball anyway. First down Philadelphia, courtesy of #81. Good old reliable Art Monk.
He belongs in the Hall of Fame. Michael can wait his turn.

Are you seriously comparing temporary paralysis to a broken arm? I bet Irvin was WISHING he broke his arm...on that same Vet turf...Like I said, Monk should've been in already, but if Irvin gets snubbed, we know that the Cowboy Bias continues.

I believe that Art Monk has been jipped out of THE HALL that past couple of yeara...he's one of the best WR's I have ever had the pleasure to watch....he's the best Redskin receiver ever......Gary Clark, Art Monk, Chris Sanders(The SKINS WRS OF THE late 80's and early 90s)

Well, if nothing else, Monk is certainly a more well-rounded receiver than Chris Sanders. I don't think anybody will argue that with you.

Whether there is a "Cowboy bias" or not, I couldn't say. I just don't follow. I think Hayes ought to be in there. A good friend of mine brought up the point that one would be hard pressed to find another great WR who was also an Olympic Medalist.
As for the other thing, in no way, shape or form was I comparing severity of injuries. All I'm saying is, he broke his arm, and held on to the ball. The pain must've been considerable. He wasn't an Eagle, in his heart. He could've saved himself for another year of your so-called "padding". He did not. He'd been playing on that same field, for 13 years, as an opponent. He knew what would happen if he landed the way he did.

No, it didn't. Once again, it's time for the HOF to put Art Monk alongside the all-time greats.
Even if Monk himself doesn't feel he's a gimme.

Hey, like I said, I agree that he should have been in long ago. But my other point is that many a former Cowboy has gotten the shaft as well and because they played in the 70's and the HOF commitee is now made up of younger guys, they stand little to NO chance at ever getting in.


Bullet Bob Hayes changed football as we know it. He was so fast and so dangerous that defensive coordinators CREATED the Zone Defense JUST FOR HIM!!! HE CHANGED THE GAME! And he's not in! It KILLS ME!

Rayfield Wright was one of the dominant lineman of that era. Charlie Harris; Captain Crash was Ronnie Lott before there WAS a Ronnie Lott. Drew Pearson, Don Meredith...even Chuck Howley and Lee Roy Jordan...the list goes on and on.

But really, I do hope Monk gets in before I die...I did watch him play and he was AMAZING.

But Irvin was better
