What for? Was the play clock about to run out? If so take the penalty then punt...save the timeout.

you take a timeout and then throw an 8 yard pass on 3rd and 12? That's bad enough, but the pass was a throwaway pass to boot. What kind of garbage is that?

why would you not take the penalty and punt. I really don't understand this at all...
