Re: 2019 NFL DRAFT
Haskins doesnt make the 2nd round- on any board.
Has anyone even watched him? You sound like we drafted a mediocre unimpressive Duke qb in the top 10- oh wait thats the Giants!

Re: 2019 NFL DRAFT
The first 14 teams have watched him and one of them took Daniel Jones. He would have been in the second round guaranteed. There is no way that the rest of the teams after us said oh no Haskins gone and no way I'm drafting Lock now. Didn't happen. Haskins is on the board right now if Danny hadn't over ruled the coaches.cowboykillerzRGiii wrote:Haskins doesnt make tbe 2nd round- on any board.

Guess what JT Barrett threw for 35 touchdowns for Ohio Stare before Haskins and ran for 12 touchdowns. It's the same thing but JT Barrett can run better. Haskins isn't doing anything special. It's their offense. JT Barrett aint no 1st round QB and he isn't starting on any NFL team that I know of. Danny panicked and blew this. It's that simple.

Re: 2019 NFL DRAFT

Its silly to talk about impossible what ifs man, he was graded higher then Lock by most all scouts so just becuase Lock is at home still doesnt say anything imo.
What do you dislike about him? That he doesnt run around like Kyler? Remeber how well that workes out for RGiii?
He honestly reminds me of Big Ben-

Your JT Barret analogy can be played for Kyler too... Only Kyler didnt throw for 50 tds did he?

Re: 2019 NFL DRAFT
Panic would have been to trade up man.. The kid hasnt even laced em up- I for one am much more thrilled with this pick then the RGiii trade. We stayed put and took one of the best qbs in the draft- how we develop him is what remains to be seen. His deep field touch and canon of an arm is NICE, his ability to stay in the pocket NICE, his size is NICE.
Not sure what you are upset about. He very well COULD have been there where we traded up to get Sweat- so change the order if it makes you feel better and we got 2 highly ranked first rounders- well played imo

Re: 2019 NFL DRAFT
I see all theses comparison of Haskins and Jones, as I said in another thread its really unfair. Put Jones at OSU and I bet money his stats would be better than Haskins at Duke. Jones is a better athlete, time will tell who the better QB is. While Haskins may have fallen to the top of the 2nd round he doesn't fall to the Skins in the 2nd round IMO. I do think the Skins could have taken Sweat at 15 kept their pick and gotten a Lock in the 2nd or Finley in the 3rd??

No because he didn't play at OSU and Kyler can run his ass off for how many more TDs than Haskins?cowboykillerzRGiii wrote:Your JT Barret analogy can be played for Kyler too... Only Kyler didnt throw for 50 tds did he?
Barrett threw for almost the same thing at OSU. Ran much better. Barrett is a better QB.
Re: 2019 NFL DRAFT
Much better value at QB than Haskins. Could have got just as good a QB with more players drafted higher in the draft if we had got one of the others who are just as good later in the draft. Might as well have traded for Barrett. All this praise is for not trading up to get him. I agree that would have been worse. Way to go Dan.cowboykillerzRGiii wrote:Panic would have been to trade up man.. The kid hasnt even laced em up- I for one am much more thrilled with this pick then the RGiii trade. Haskins is a reverse Dak Prescott with a slightly better arm and no run game. Prescott was a 4th rounder. Much better value and is a better QB than Haskins.
I like you Killer. You're straight up. But this isn't close to being what it could have been if Danny had of stayed out of the war room
Re: 2019 NFL DRAFT
One thing that encourages me about Haskins is that Urban Myer loves to run read option. He has a few really good read option QB's on his roster (I think one transferred after the kid from Georgia transferred to OSU) for him to give the ball to Haskins says a lot about what he thought of Haskins throwing abilities.

Re: 2019 NFL DRAFT
Seriously, I completely respect if you're not a fan of the pick. But there's not a person in the world who believes Dwayne Haskins was a fourth round QB. He's been the #2 rated QB on damn near every ranking for months.
I thought about you last night though, man, because I seriously thought we were headed for Rosen!
We'll find out what we have in Haskins, but I think it was an intelligent pick and not a reach at all. We came away from the first round with a QB to build around for the future and the edge rusher we needed. Try to enjoy it!

If you don't think that QBs rated high by everyone haven't layed an egg over and over again then i can say no more. I'm tired of not taking advantage of what we have and mucking up constantly. I think Danny this because he knew he would be praised and press would have wondered why he didn't take Haskins. All the more reason to stay out of the war room Dan so the one's hired to do this can do the very best for the team and not worry what others think about it.

Re: 2019 NFL DRAFT
The answer is ZERO more tds... Both accounted for 54 tds actually. But running that much takes a toll, ask Cam or Rg.Sonny9TD wrote:No because he didn't play at OSU and Kyler can run his ass off for how many more TDs than Haskins?cowboykillerzRGiii wrote:Your JT Barret analogy can be played for Kyler too... Re: 2019 NFL DRAFT
I was good with taking Lock, thinking Haskins would be gone or required us to trade up.
To me this was the perfect scenario and we got the best grade of the division.

Yea i like QBs who can scramble for a 1st down. Absolutely. Rather have Barrett. Same arm better legs.cowboykillerzRGiii wrote:So you are upset we didnt get a better runner... At qb?

If we reversed the order like you said Sweat at 15 Haskins at 26 that still means we had to trade up to get a QB that cost two second round picks when another QB could have been had in the 3rd and we keep both second round picks. A better scenario X 100. Haskins is no way worth two second rounders compared to Stidham worth a late 3rd. That is just ridiculous and shows how bad we mucked this up. Just heard more analyst had Lock a head of Haskins by the guy sitting next to Ryan Clark and Lock wasn't even drafted. All the proof i need Haskins would still be there on the board right now and in no way worth two second round picks. A total waste of draft picks again by Danny. He is holding back this team severely.

Re: 2019 NFL DRAFT
Welp, then you choose to feel how you feel.
I can share analyst making a case for why Haskins is the best qb in the draft over Murray. Easily can find support to any narrative with google. No shortage of those insisting we MUST trade up to 5 to get our guy- and we didnt have to! Hail ya!!
Haskins can still move- but I prefer my qb to slide in the pocket as opposed to run outside of it and get smeared by a LB.
Maybe if you watch some of the vids I linked youd see him in a new light.
The what ifs are pointless. What is, is pretty good IMO.
Looking forward to the rest of the draft, hopefully you can too. Cheers

Re: 2019 NFL DRAFT
No of course not. Highly rated QBs fail every single year. I was personally a little worried about Lock at 15 looking like one of those Blake Bortles picks.Sonny9TD wrote:If you don't think that QBs rated high by everyone haven't layed an egg over and over again then i can say no more. Like I said, its totally cool if this wasn't your QB pick. But I don't really buy that the team went out and did something crazy with that pick. They've rolled the dice on a quarterback they like. I hope it works out.

Re: 2019 NFL DRAFT
Anything you guys are hoping to see in round 3? A few guys who might be around there that I'm watching
S DEIONTE THOMPSON - Alabama
C ERIK MCCOY - Texas A&M
G CONNOR MCGOVERN - Penn State
WR JAYLEN HURD - Baylor
Really like to see some more help on the o-line or maybe a TE. Still feel like we're screwed at the WR position this year no matter what though.

Re: 2019 NFL DRAFT
The more i look into it the more sold i am... Multiple reads, moving lbs and safeties with his eyes, understands coverage, accuracy deep, good size
Not to turn this into an argument about race, but i watched a segment- if he were at Duke with the same medicore numbers, he likely wouldn't be drafted in the first rounds or at all... And conversely since he is black but didnt rush for 1000 yards people are discounting his skill set as an exceptionally smart and accurate qb.

Glad the FO was able to just look at the facts

I think wr, db, ol is our areas of weakness- in that order.riggofan wrote:Anything you guys are hoping to see in round 3? A few guys who might be around there that I'm watching

A 3rd round pick isn't always a day one starter so bpa is all I can hope for.
I also am a little worried at wr... This is the actual make or break for Jdoc year , he has the attributes to be a good wideout. Losing Crowder sucked, but he went backwards in production. P Rich might be better suited to a qb like Haskins deep... Really hoping Cam Simms can be a contributor now that he is healthy. Boy had some nice catches before he got hurt

Re: 2019 NFL DRAFT
That is conjecture but the same is being said about Jones as well. Big nose and mouth Nick just wanting to play the race card when lots of people don't even want Jones and he is white. What's the excuse there? Kyler Murray went first and i think he is black. Nick is a dumbshiz and Chris Carter too if he thinks the same way. But i still don't either one of them Jones or Haskins is a 1st round pick.cowboykillerzRGiii wrote:The more i look into it the more sold i am... Totally forgot Cam Simms was on the team tbh but I saw him pop up on some Redskins related Twitter the other day. I have a feeling they make some sort of trade for a veteran WR after the draft. I wonder what it would take get Nelson Agholor off the Eagles?cowboykillerzRGiii wrote:I also am a little worried at wr... Think you can still get some guys who can start early from the third round at certain positions. Maybe a CB or a TE. Maybe a guard.

Re: 2019 NFL DRAFT
just saw where Parris Campbell took a bunch of 10 yard passes to the house for Ohio State. Nobody could cover Parris Campbell. He runs a 4.3 forty. No wonder there were so many touchdowns. Terry Mclaurin also ran a 4.3 forty and got drafted in the 3rd by us. Who couldn't throw 50 touchdowns to these studs at WR for Ohio State in a pass happy offense that doesn't even resemble a NFL offense. We have been snookered by receivers who have taken it to the house after the catch. Two receivers with world class speed. Mark Sanchez could throw 60 touchdowns with this group.
The Cardinals just gave away Josh Rosen. Damn Dan you have a head full of rocks for damn sure.
