I understand your reaction. But Griffin wouldn't be replacing one of the great pocket passers of all time. He would only have to replace a 40 year old, broken neck QB whose arm strength is gone, who was ranked 34th in the league this year and was benched for Brock freaking Osweiler. The only thing machine-like about Manning this year was the number of interceptions he threw. He ranked #2 with 17 INTs.
Anybody who watched the AFC championship game this year knows that Manning was horrible this year. So yeah, I think Griffin would probably be an upgrade.
Griffin has shown NO EVIDENCE of an ability to mentally process fast enough to run a pro offense that is why I find your suggestion absurd. After watching Robert flounder in the pocket under Shanny and Gruden I question whether Griffin is wired to be a NFL QB in a conventional offense. He didn't just miss with the Skins he missed badly. So unless Denver wants to scrap their pro offense and try their luck with a zone read high school/college style offense Griffin can run Rubort would be useless to them.
Outbidding the Skins for Cousins and paying the Skins 2 draft picks as compensation would make sense for Denver but not Griffin. They are the champs so giving up the last pick this year and presumably a late pick next would for a proven young polished pocket passer like Cousins makes sense because he could have them in the thick of the race again next year. Unless the Bronco's are high on Osweiler I think they'll make a run at Cousins. Going for McCoy would make a lot more sense than Griffin also. McCoy looked like he could run Gruden's offense in his limited outings whereas Griffin was a total bust.

I have no idea what their thinking is. I personally think its most likely that they just put that story out about Griffin for leverage in negotiations with Osweiler.

You can calm down btw. I'm not saying RG3 is a super stud hall of famer ready to handle a pro style offenes. I'm saying Manning is clearly done. Its not hard to be an upgrade from that.

Cowboys not interested in Griffin...but they are interested in McCoy.
That leaves: Rams, 49ers, Chiefs, Jets, and Texans as teams who would have a legitimate interest in Griffin. Unless he is ok with being a backup, I see the least likely team as the Chiefs. 49ers, unless they get rid of Kaepernick, is another one I don't see happening. It's the Rams, Jets, or Texans, IMO.

O'Brien is a former QB coach and OC from the Pats who runs a conventional NFL offense so I cannot imagine him having any interest in Griffin or for that matter Robert playing for O'Brien, Griffin needs to find a simpler offense to run.

You called it man! I disagree about it being a good landing spot for him though. There's a reason they have the second pick in the draft this year, and that has probably been the #1 team where guys haven't wanted to sign or re-sign this offseason.
I said a week ago, I thought RG3 would be better off going somewhere to be a backup behind an established guy but I believed his ego would lead him to somewhere he would have a chance to be the starter. Just seems like a short sighted move on his part.
I like Hue Jackson though. And honestly I feel some sympathy for Browns fans.

Oh I absolutely agree with you, I’m saying good landing spot for him because of his desire to compete for a staring job and with Coach Jackson. Of course he’d be better served going to a team with an aging veteran and strong HC…would love to know if there was any interest from other teams that he turned down to compete as a starter??
