Whoever made the decision to go against the wind in the 2nd and 4th qtrs cost us the lead at the half and almost certainly cost us the game

MARK MY WORDS - we definitely could have won this game but we cannot overcome stupid calls like that

the FACT is we made it possible for Aaron Rodgers to become the great QB he is by making that STUPID decision ...

I hate losing games that we should have won - this was ours to win just like the 1st pukes game

Our passing game has been broken since the first month of the year and while the players sound confident they can turn things around I'm not so sure. I'm interested to hear what you guys feel about your pass defense? If Rodgers can get hot, that changes everything.

We're currently beat up pretty well, and if Bakhtiari our LT is out again you guys should be able to put Rodgers under constant duress.

Given our passing games struggles I'm picking:

Bad guys: 24
Packers: 10

Here's to a good game and may the victor take it all the way to Santa Clara! :)

Well, I'm not sure that was the result any of us predicted. Especially after that first quarter. Our LT gave up an early sack/safety and I thought--here we go again. But we shored that up and Rodgers evidently flipped a switch.

Redskins fans should still be very excited about your future IMO. Your GM appears to know what he's doing and Cousins looks like a sustainable franchise QB. First playoff games can be hard for a QB, and they're even harder when you can't keep defenders off his back. If you guys can get some more consistent RB as well as defensive back help, I look forward to seeing you guys for a tough fought game next year in the regular season and hopefully playoffs!

Oh, Mr Broken Record... Consider, our best games this year came off of a fast start in the 1st quarter. Does that happen if we play into the wind in the first quarter? What happened when GB started playing with the wind at it's back? The result would very likely have been worse. This was a 6 of one, Half-dozen of the other type of deal. Suck it up, buttercup.

Bingo, this is exactly what happened!!
Skins won the toss and elected to defer giving the Packers the choice of rec or KO
Packers choose to rec, giving the Skins the option of which goal to defend.
Skins choose to go with the wind, my guess (as CT said) is to get a lead…which they did!
Second half Skins have the choice to KO or Rec, if they chose to KO they would not have the option of which goal to defend. That decision would then go to the Pack, they would get to decide which way to receive (remember the Patriots overtime decision last week?)
Skin chose (rightfully) to receive
So the only way the Skin could have had the wind in the second and fourth quarters to have the excacxt opposite happen.…meaning the Packers win the toss and defer, we chose to rec. and the Pack take the wind giving us the choice of which goal to defend in the second half.
P.S. wind had nothing to do with the outcome…last time I check both teams played in it!!

Our defense simply could not stop GB's offense...I'm glad the team is showing signs of improvement, but they've got a ways to go yet...that defense is sorry....

I'm done with this - it's just my opinion, that we would have been better off with the wind before the half and at the end

DEHog - the Packers won the toss and elected to receive is what the announcers, who, admittedly are IDIOTS, said as we kicked off - we do not know what might have happened but from what we saw at the beginning, that Packers group was not winning the game and I would have preferred to have the wind for a possible FG at the half or to win the game, is all - The Packers used the wind in the 2nd qtr to get Rodgers back into gear and he is a great QB, it did not take much - we should not have let that happen

btw - we got out coached big time so it might not have mattered - that first goal line stand was great for them and terrible on our part

I don't think the wind had anything to do with it...our lousy defense that couldn't stop their offense had everything to do with it...

Rodgers scored points in the 3rd against the wind. Enough already.

really!! do tell - OK a little bit more then, just for you
how 'bout those 17 points and the great plays in the 2nd quarter that helped him get his confidence back

it's over - the 30 MPH wind was just a small factor but it did help because he was having fun for the first time in many weeks

Thanks for the classy post. Good luck in Arizona! Green Bay did the Washington Redskins a major service in providing some solid tape that shows where our weaknesses exist. My biggest disappointment yesterday was in the lack of coaching adjustments by the Redskins staff after the half.

OK then, really! You'd prefer Rodgers get the wind at his back, and start his mojo, in the FIRST QUARTER. OK then....... Brilliant! =D>

C'mon, Rodgers got on a roll because our defense either stopped or weren't able to maintain pressure on him and his line. In the first quarter our D had Rodgers skittish and nervous about pressure. And then all that changed.... It wasn't the wind. The wind didn't stop our receivers from getting open in the 4th. Enough already.

^^ I think he means the wind against our defensive players which cause them to not be able to tackle Lacy.

It was a great break for Green Bay that after a not so good 1st quarter, they had the wind at their backs and it helped Aaron Rodgers get out of the funk he'd been in for many games :D

I love it when someone posts "enough already" - I'm here and I'll decide when it's enough - it's what I do ...

Of course, he could just as easily broken that funk in the first quarter, as well... leaving our young and inexperienced team with a deficit to overcome from the start of the game... so, how'd that go for us in the second half?

Clarification:

GB won the toss.

woulda, coulda, shoulda - there were many things that cost us the game ... fact is, we played in a game that nobody with any sense thought we had a chance of playing in - be interesting to see what changes Scot thinks need to happen here in order to continue to upgrade things

Cousins is saying that there are a lot of things that he likes about possibly staying here - interesting that he implies he's not totally happy with the offense ... there's no doubt that re-signing Cousins is THE top priority ...

I'm looking forward to this ...

 Damn, I missed an opportunity to say ..."and we would have won that game ..."

oh well - maybe next year we'll do a better job with our kickoff decisions ...

Green Bay did a better job adjusting their offensive AND defensive game calling - we were out coached

at first I was pissed at the kickoff decision but that was not at all a big deal considering what was happening on the field

hey, we had a great run ... and anything can happen when you get to the Playoffs ... onward and upward
