I'm a Griffin supporter and I do understand that he has let us and himself down big time

I just want this franchise to be better and do not really care who the HC is or the QB for that matter - it seems to me that it would be an 'easier road' for us if Jay Gruden proves that he's a decent HC and if Griffin can find a way to do what his coaches want him to do

this franchise has been a shambles for a long time and IMO it's going to be frustrating just getting back to not being a huge embarrassment

hopefully tonight, the coaches and players show us that we are headed in the right direction
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

We wouldnt be talking about this BS.

You mean an experienced coach like Mike Shanahan?

This stuff is just crazy. Experienced coordinators can become good coaches. These guys have to start somewhere. Sorry but the big problem with our team right now is not that we need a better coach. We have a head coach with legit OC experience in the NFL. We have an insanely experienced team of position coaches.

Its a little bizarre to me that you start off your post calling other fans clueless and then proceed to go on a rant about Jay Gruden of all things.

I mentioned that Jay can and may become a great coach in time. However last year was clearly a case showing his inexperience as the head coach. Not from an Xs and Os standpoint but his leadership.

My problem with him is partly not his fault. He is a second year head coach. I dont care though I would rather have a guy who knows what he is doing right now. Not wait another three years until he becomes a good head coach.

You brought up Mike Shanahans name. I thank Mike for the work that he did do. While he was not that great at drafting talent overall.
The one most glaring mistake Mike made and he must be held accountable for is letting Robert back in the playoff game after he was clearly slowed down after aggravating his injury.

As a head coach you are essentially the father of the team. If you see your son hobbling out there. Would you let him continue to play?
That falls on Mike he should have been the wiser. As great a coach as he was in his hay day. In that Seattle game he failed. Robert was a rookie.
Sean Taylor starting free safety Heavens team!

I wouldn't argue that he did a great job last year. There were definitely times that he just looked completely shell shocked during games. But I think our "performance" last year was 90% about a not very good, not very deep roster. That was just painfully obvious. The defense in particular was ridiculously bad. I just find it hard to believe that Bill Cowher shows up last year and suddenly that defense is more talented.

I'm sure I'm not telling you anything you don't already know.

We'll see about Gruden, I guess. I liked some of the moves he made in the offseason like bringing in the QB coach. He also seems a little less open with the DC media which is a good thing and tells me maybe he learned something last year. Unfortunately for him, I think he's going to be judged by how the RGIII thing plays out.
