I think the people screaming for Colt McCoy is more of a knock on Griffin than an endorsement of McCoy. But that's just me.

IMO the best thing for the franchise is to have Griffin show that he's the QB that this franchise and Gruden's offense needs

there are many that are just anti Griffin

He's shown zero pocket awareness and confidence and IMO, has regressed from last year. What more do we need to see? The poor guy looks worse than Patrick Ramsey at this point. Call it shell-shocked, fear of getting injured again, whatever you want...the guy just isn't the same anymore. 5 games is not going to change that.

I agree with some of your opinions about Griffin lately, but only because I think he's being given a fair shake. I think he needs to go out and perform just like any of the other QBs on the roster, no excuses. And I agree that "the system" isn't really the issue with him.

You might be completely right that he's done. My point is just that if Gruden or Snyder or whoever wants to see him play for another game or two or five this season its not the end of the world. Freaking hell, man, maybe he goes out v. Indy, beats Andrew Luck with some insane performance and gets his mojo back. I'm not expecting the miracle, but I'd love to see it.

I think I'm right with you, maybe with an extra dash of hope and/or optimism that we might see Griffin recover.

I know what you're saying man. I was beating up on Griffin last week, but honestly I had that same hope that he was going to come out against the 49ers and just completely light it up.

There really aren't "many". Freaking tired of this lame excuse.

The best thing for the franchise actually isn't for GRIFFIN to "show that he's the QB that this franchise and Gruden's offense needs". The best thing for the franchise would be for ANYBODY to show that he's the QB this franchise needs. SOMEBODY STEP UP AND PLAY.

We're still waiting for that to happen...and FWIW, I didn't used to be anti-Griffin, and I have the Griffin jersey to prove it...

This is where your blind love for RGIII shines through. The franchise doesn't need Griffin to show he's the QB, the franchise just needs ANYONE to show they are the franchise QB.

I'll try it in a different way then ...

if all 3 QBs could suddenly show they can play as well as they are capable and in a way that Gruden wants .. IMO it's better for the franchise if that QB is Griffin because he's got a better head for the game, a better arm and is a lot quicker - Colt and Kirk at their best are just good QBs - Griffin at his best is a better QB

IMO there are some here that don't want that to happen because they have never liked Griffin

now - we do not have Griffin playing anywhere close to what he's capable of, but, Gruden, to date, has started him anyway ...

we get to find out tomorrow, who Gruden thinks gives this team the best chance for success on Sunday

I'm still thinking that he's going with Griffin but it does not matter who is starting - I'll be hoping they can play well

What in the world are you basing that on? If he had a better head for the game, I don't think we'd be hearing every week that he's not seeing the field, not taking the proper number of steps, etc; etc;

I'm expecting that Griffin will start this Sunday, just haven't seen or heard anything that would make me think otherwise.

This was true in 2012...it hasn't been true since then...and he's got a better head for the game? This has never been true...

Yep. And I would hold out hope again if he was starting this week, though my confidence is pretty low at this point.

It's clear the guy has a lot of the tools he needs to succeed in the NFL. He lost a few of them from the end of 2012 till now along with his confidence, and he's also not grown at all in his areas of weakness. Now it's clear that he needs some kind of chance to hit the reset button if he's going to have any chance of a real NFL career.

Actually, I could see that happening while he is in Washington, if he is mature enough or can become mature enough to embrace the opportunity. Maybe he will just want out, or maybe the coaches don't believe he's redeemable, and it won't happen. But I'm not convinced yet that he's done in DC.

Jason Reid has been all over twitter saying that the coaches are done with Griffin. His being a part of the plans of the future is simply smoke and mirrors to try to increase his trade value.

I agree FFA - I'm as disappointed in this as anyone and I just think the best thing for us as a franchise is for RG3 to use this to properly prepare himself and to come in here next Spring and show Sean and Jay what he can do

I also think that it may be that he needs a change of scenery but to me that's a shame if this kid goes somewhere else and shows that all he needed was some help

I'm not as convinced as some here are that Sean and Jay are tired of trying to help him out

I'm not at all sure that we want to go with McCoy or Cousins as our starting QBs - they're just good back-ups IMO

Griffin isn't even good enough to be a backup at this point.

I've changed my mind about this .. I now think that Mike & Kyle were pushed (by Snyder & Allen) to play RG3 from the start and I think in hindsight that it's now clear that RG3 and the Redskins would have been better off if he could have been prepared/coached differently

like you said FFA - RG3 has a ton of ability and he was basically put in an offense that Kyle & Mike felt would be 'easier' for him - it now looks to me like he never learned what it really takes to play QB in the NFL - Kyle and Mike never took the time to mould the talent he had with what it takes to be a good NFL QB

It seems that Gruden and McVay were trying to do that at the beginning of the season - Gruden intimated earlier this week that, with the CBA, coaches and players time in the off season is restricted and RG3 was possibly not as helped as much as both RG3 and the HC had hoped - the QB training that RG3 did this past off season was not done the way that Gruden felt would be the most helpful

I still hope that Gruden can advise RG3 on what he needs to do and that RG3 does that and can find a way to be here

not sure what this off season holds for this franchise but my worst fears that Dan Snyder was still interfering have been confirmed

looks like we're in for another off season of getting our hopes up only to have the realty hit us when next season gets going
