Please! We're talking about maybe 10 kicks in a game (both punts and KOs). I doubt he's going to wear out his leg/groin with that workload. He probably does twice that many every day in practice. And I'd still rather see the KOs go 8 yards deep than pooched to the 12.

I respectfully disagree. He doesn't seem to be able to hang it 8 yards deep and that's why we see the low liner. So giving us the kick we want requires an all-out boot ...evidently ... and that combined with punting is the recipe I mentioned. I say that's how Kai injured his groin - trying to prove he could kick deep like Hocker.
You have a better explanation?
I'd rather see liners 8 yards deep than pooches too. I'd like high deep ones from Hocker even more.
I also doubt he's kicking tons in practice. We get camp legs to not overwork guys and during the season I'm sure these guys are careful.
