Trent, this kid, Chester and Jammal are all hard-nosed dudes. I like that. The left side of the line is gonna be really nasty. He also has some wheels on him.

WRT other draft movement last night......WHO CARES? Didn't directly pertain to the Skins. We got our QB.....how can anyone not put the Redskins in the conversation for round 1 draft honors....as we got one of the two QB's that pretty much all the talking heads say is a can't miss prospect. Additionally, Mike Shanahan said that we prefered RGIII to Luck (probably based on the offensive scheme we want to run).

The Texans just took this guy with the 13th selection of the 3rd round. His Grade is an 82.5 according to the NFL Draft Tracker. Our guy, Leribeus' grade is a 64.7. Also look at the weight difference. The Texans use the same scheme as us, but take bigger O lineman. Is Kubiak better than his mentor when it comes to O linemen?

Here's Bunting's take on Brooks: Definitely more upside than Leribeus, but note the poor grades for pulling and getting the second level. In answer to my question, Shanny picks his lineman based on how their attributes fit his scheme. Yes, taking Leribeus was right for Shanny, but did he have to take him this early?

Josh LeRibeus, offensive guard, SMU (6-2, 311)

LeRibeus has gained a lot of seam over the past couple of months and has the kind of power to hold up inside vs. the bull rush. However, I don’t see a real natural athlete in pass protection and I think there were better linemen on the board at this stage.

Possesses a solid frame. But isn't real quick off the snap and struggles reaching defenders trying to shoot off his frame. Doesn't play with great leverage, can be overwhelmed on contact and lacks the fluidity/foot quickness to slide his feet through contact.

Is a tough kid who wants to stick through contact in the run game. However, doesn't have a ton of natural snap/power into contact.

Impression: Struggles to initially set, drop his pad level and anchor through contact. Isn't a legit draftable prospect.

Strengths: Physical strength, determination and discipline. LeRibeus could immediately contribute at guard. Additionally, should LeRibeus struggle upon arrival, the SMU Mustang has demonstrated his character in the face of adversity and certainly would go down swinging.

Weaknesses: Scouts still question LeRibeus' ability to engage in space, and while his comeback displayed incredible commitment and discipline, one must double-check on any student who missed a season for off-field issues—even if they're as affable as LeRibeus.

I just checked in to see who we picked up. Position seems about right, but I can't say I'm finding many people who see this as a positive for the Skins.

If the coaches make a reach on a lineman, I feel that they see them being a perfect fit. Same as running back. But keep in mind we picked up a 7th round draft pick and that guy will most likely be a stud vs the guy we drafted in the 3rd.

We have 2 4th round picks. I wonder if we go corner or RT next.

I don't think we are THAT bad at safety. I mean, we signed Tanard Jackson, Brandon Merriweather, Madieu Williams and Cedric Griffin. Plus Dejon Gomes will be in his second year and has shown potential and Reed Doughty (yes he sucks) has experience. We might be alright. Adding another one might not be a bad idea though. It's late for me, so I'm going to keep rambling

I like CB as a possible pick, but I am going to go with an ILB. Somewhere out there is another Perry Riley type that can sit behind Fletch for a couple of years.

Is Zebrie Sanders still available? I heard he might be a good fit for the ZBS. Seems athletic enough
