Hope... LOL... seems that was a criteria about 3 years ago... how'd that work?

The Hope with who Jason Campbell when we drafted him in 2005? Is that who you are referring to?

8-8 would be great. 7-9 in my book with several close games either way.

Again I ask what does anything more than 2 wins do for us next year and moving forward? The way we can get out of being stuck mediocrity is to get a franchise QB. Win 2 games get Andrew Luck and build around him.

You just said you would never cheer for the Redskins to lose, except for this one time. I pointed out that it's pretty easy to imagine our team being mediocre after some time has passed and you turning against the team again.

You respond with a mythical fantasy. And what if, somehow, despite all the odds, we don't have Luck 8 years from now?

Kaz is right, you are a Luck fan. Good luck cheering him on; I hope whatever team he lands on, which won't be the Skins, does well. Maybe then you won't be going against the people you claim to support.

Wow. You continue to advocate throwing games (that's the only way the Skins win only 2 games)... and even root for losses... yet... Just wow.

You guys are nuts I joined this board in February 2004. No one had even heard of Andrew Luck. That was nearly 7 years ago. Andrew Luck was a freshman in high school. I WANT THIS FRANCHISE TO HAVE AN AMAZING FRANCHISE QB AND WIN A SUPER BOWL! SORRY BUT neither John Beck or Rex Grossman will ever be able to do that. As I have stated we will be drafting a QB in the first round of the 2012 draft I want Luck way more than Landry Jones, Matt Barkley, Nick Foles or any other QB that will be in the 2012 draft.

No Kazoo I grew up in Maryland. Maybe so you're not so ignorant you should watch Andrew Luck play this year. Then maybe you will understand why I want the Redskins to get him so badly.

That has nothing to do with my not wanting to tank the season

Kazoo the only way we get Luck is to get the #1 pick. How many times do I need to go over this.

Tanking a season is risky (you have to be THE worst), obvious (we're not a bad team), and undoes everything across the entire team we've worked on. How many times do I need to go over this?

Obviously we are not a bad team? According to what measure? We have won 10 total games the last 2 seasons.

And yet we're playing this year's schedule with this year's team. A team you predicted that couldn't win two games and would probably win 5-8, which means 4-6. We have to be worse then the Bengals, Niners and everyone else. We aren't bad enough to do that no matter how much you want us to lose. And no NFL coach or team are going into the season planning to tank it. There is zero chance this is happening.

I am reminded of teaching my son to fish for Bass, using a popper... I found a nesting bass, who was aggressively protecting her nest... I then had my son practice by casting his popper (a type of bait, for those of you who are unfamiliar) within a few feet of the nest... then jerk the bait lightly, so that it pops... the bass, almost instinctively strikes the bait... reel her in, release, repeat. It was fun for a while...

Despite nasty wounds, he continued to instinctively strike... every time...

Eventually... it was time to stop.

im being very realistic 8 & 8 10 & 6 as we have improved on both side of the ball and solid qb play we can win 2 more games thats 8 wins. 10 wins is pushing it a bit but a few breaks and 10 wins is within reason.

The best thing that can happen is that we have a good year, not a horrible year...

Let's suppose we win 6, 7 or 8 games and Beck shows promise. We realize we don't need to spend a first rounder on a qb and we get another weapon for the offense in the first round (like a really good wr), a quality guard or center in rounds 2 and 3. Now we're talking.

Did anyone see that the Sporting News has us going 2--14? That is ugly, a real step back from last year. I'm hoping that is a writer who doesn't really follow us and has no idea how many improvements we've made. For some on this thread, that would be perfect, NOT for me!

OK
So let's assume you're correct, and this year's team is actually worse than last year's. In this ( personally I consider twisted) version of reality, we only need to take a dive in a couple of games. The rest our mighty opponents can just take from us! Lucky us! Luck is on our side! We now build around him... well, it doesn't seem that you think the rebuilding has gone well so far. Seems to be anti-working in your world view. So who picks the new reciever corps, O-line, RB's, etc.?
Never mind, he can throw to himself. No, really, he's so good, linemen block better for him, because they just want to. And receivers, why its like they don't even have to TRY to get open. He just always seems to put it in there anyway. Golly, we sure got Lucky. Good thing we didn't stick with that silly Shanallaplan. What did that ever accomplish? Shanny only increased the win total 50% from the previous year. The unenlightened think he might do that again, but you know better. Hmmph, 50% per year, where's THAT gonna get your beloved skins? Andy will be ok, he's really good! Hell tell us who to draft. We can't lose.

Well,

2 is 50% of 4
4+2 is 6
6 is a 50% increase over 4

3 is 50% of 6
6+3 is 9

A number of FANS seem hopeful that this is an achievable goal that would represent good progress. Seeing that we were competitive in 14 games last year, I am inclined to stand there

And by the way,
4.5 is 50% of 9
13 or 14 wins
Think that would suck?

Which QB is going to lead us to 9 wins? Slow down on 13 or 14 wins. You're delusional. Keep dreaming Harley Hog!
