Kind of like when you are trying to dump tickets to a game and your asking price was too high originally, and now there are no takers. Been there many times. You end up taking what you can, and that's usually very little

You don't just "dump" him! If you can't get at least a 3rd or a very high 4th (If someone is still on the board you "love" when the pick come up) you keep him and you have an experienced backup for next season.

And lets face it, we will need our backup QB at some point, with our OL and #5's injury history.

Why dump him for a low round pick, who most likely won't ever start an NFL game or contribute in any meaningful manner!

No doubt man. If he has to stick around this fall, we would have an experienced backup QB who doesn't cost a lot of money, and you know Campbell is a decent guy who isn't going to cause locker room issues. I'd rather see Campbell come in over Grossman any day.

There are worse things for Campbell than having to spend a year playing for the Shanahans and backing up Donovan McNabb. It might not be his dream situation, but I think he could recognize its not the worst thing in the world and could help him out in the long run.

I agree with everything both of you said, except #5's injury history. 4 missed games in three seasons is not much of a concern. Puts him near the top of the league for starting QB's.

But anything below a 4th is too little return for a guy capable of starting QB for many teams. We would be better to keep him. Who knows how much he could learn from Shanahan and MCNabb!

Back it up 2 more years and he's missed another 13 games....
