No matter what, RayNAustin does make valid points. Tons of excuses are being made for JC. 2 years ago it was the WRs. Last year it was the OL. What's it going to be this year??????

This year, it will be the astrological re-alignment of the planets, since Pluto is no longer a full fledged planet. It has seriously thrown off JC's chi and his mantra now has a greenish hue as opposed to the required blue hue required to be a great quarterback. Montana, Peyton, and Brady all have this hue; it's a well guarded secret. The stars have doomed JC!!! -drinking

I like the idea of it but I highly doubt that the Chiefs would trade away Cassell and get stuck with Campbell.

You're out of your mind. It's his aura that has the greenish hue. His mantra is "Pick bad, catch pretty!"
Anybody else think of that the real Jason Campbell was kidnapped three years ago and replaced with Eriq LaSalle?

Nope. Wrong. His yards per game also decreased from 2007. He had more yards in 2008 because he played more games, but his yards per game was lower, (read: less productive). His passing attempts per game was lower too, as was his average yards per completion.

So his completion percentage increased slightly and interceptions improved because he's improving his skills? Or could it be because he threw less passes (passes per game) for less yards per completion (safer, shorter passes that improve completion % and are less prone to being intercepted).

Even though these are just numbers, when analyzed appropriately, tell the true story. Less yards passing per game ... less TD's ... less yards per completion = LESS PRODUCTIVE.

Now, if you take away that 4 game stretch (weeks 2-5) when Jason Campbell actually resembled an NFL QB, week 6 through week 17 was truly pathetic and much worse than 2007. And he was not exactly setting the NFL afire in 2007 either.

I sure hope that Campbell stays away from this web site - not a lot of positive vibes going on is there

and this is the fantasy trade thread
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Almost any mention of JC brings out the best and worst in us. As a group, we're as consistently inconsistent as his arm.

You just said his pass attempts per game were down as well.. how the crap do you expect him to have more yard, and TDs and a better YPA when the coach doesnt give him a chance to get in a rythem?

I am not a Campbell supporter but I'm not sure that there is any way that deal can get done - not so much Cutler leaving Denver as KC wanting Campbell over Cassel.

I think Campbell will be given another opportunity here even though I don't think that is going to matter because of a lot of other issues with the offensive line, etc. etc. etc. .....

On a slightly different note - I also just do not see the upside of Cutler vrs Campbell  I feel that Campbell was not the whole problem here last year and while I am not sure he can be good enough as our QB the important thing is that I think Zorn thinks he can be. To me - this is the bed that Zorn has made and we are going to see if it is good enough

Regardless of how good/bad or consistent/inconsistent JC is, we DON'T want Cutler...the guy is a baby. Your management was considering a trade, so what? Get over it. It's the way pro sports works.

Apparently, it's all about Jay -- in Jay's head. Hey Jay -- are you getting your paycheck? Yeah, get over it. We don't need him and his immature ways, nor do we want another change, e.g., coaches, qb's, schemes, etc... Let's ride this pony another year and see how it goes.

We're sure to be a mess on offense if we change our QB again.

I still believe it was more about protection, wr's being open (and big enough to see), the line making holes for the backs than JC's inability to get the job done. He was also very good about protecting the ball.

Fios...I'm still waiting to hear why the originator feels that Denver would want him. I need to establish his supposed value so that I can think about the trade.
That's the thing. I'll stay away from the thread until he answers my question. I'm not here to make more work for you.

The coach has said he wants more than just picks in any trade for Culter, and his attempt to a QB is what started this whole mess you'd think he'd want a QB as part of any trade. Why bother with drafting a rookie with the first pick, plus the Lions don't have a QB worth offering. Getting Quinn would be the same as getting a rookie although he might like Anderson and a pick or two. I think he'd jump all over JC, he's already shown what he could do with a good QB (Brady) with extra weapons to throw to, and how to use those weapons when you have a QB that hadn't taken a real snap since HS (Casell). He's probally drooling to get a QB that's been tinker with by some of the best in the game since HS.

Oh. I never really thought of JC as a commodity.
In that case, Denver needs an RB, and some defensive starters that have never played for Cleveland.
Cutler would be here five minutes before he opened his mouth and took a dump on Sonny or Ryp (I won't say Theismann; everybody else does that anyway, and no one would notice) or Doug. The kid has no filter between brain and mouth.
At the end of the day, Jeff George redux. Thanks, but no thanks.
