That said we need 11 wins to get in the playoffs - not because of the Eagles but the damn NFC Redneck. Those teams are good. If CP is out 11 wins will be tough. Couple that with the mediocre play of the last few weeks and there is reason for concern. No matter what happens this season has been more exciting than I could have hoped for.

Um, you do know that two teams in the NFC East would be considered part of the South right? The Skins and the Cowboys. In fact, MANY people in the South used to root for the Skins before the Falcons and the Panthers. So, in reality, the NFC East is nothing more than the NFC "Redneck" light. You root for a redneck team. Get over it.

From Alabama.

ROTFALMAO Oh my gosh, rednecks rooting for redskins.. awesome!

Didn't think you could get much more East the DC Metro Area.

I thought this thread was about Portis' injury??

I think we should sit CP for the Dallas game and get him ready for a playoff push, I'd like to see the carries split between Alexander and FB Mike Sellars, maybe even hand it to Cooley, Moss or ARE a few times, they all are capable of running the ball. Even if we don't run much, lets see what JC can do with this West Coast Offense, I think the results may be surprising. My 2 cents

Yup Teeter, I agree man.. rest the beast until playoff time, or at least until the final couple games for a playoff push

We need others to carry the load. We don't have him right now so we must deal with it.

Well, if you can rest him for week 11 & 12 (because he's so hurt), wouldn't that be good for you to have him weeks 13-16? IMO it would be great to have him back healthier than he is now, unless you'd rather him play now and get worse?

Completely speculative. We don't know if this week will be enough for him to rest. We also don't know if he plays vs Dallas, his knee will get worse.

not looking like he'll play.

But it looks like Betts is back so it may not be a huge deal. CP should rest the knee. If Betts can start CP should be in sweats on the sideline.

What? Not a big deal? Comparing Betts to Portis is like comparing a Miata to a Ferrari. I like Betts but he isn't half the back CP is nor play with the same fire. I've watch Betts pass block....let's just say he gets beat as much as Jansen if that gives you any hint as to his "whiff rate".

I feel alright with Betts. We need a runner against Dallas, and he'll do alright. Problem is, I don't think he's going to be full strength for this game. Has anyone heard anything?

This is what's going to happen.

Clinton won't play.
Betts is at 75%-80% and will play.
Expect a heavy dose of the Tip-Toe Burglar.

Clinton will not play next week against SEA.

Clinton will be back for Baltimore and we will need him.

What about the Giants game between the CHawks and the Crows. Will he play for that?

Oh crud, I skipped a game? I think he could be back for them. But I definitely see him missing the next two games. That'll be about four weeks.

Portis is more like a Mustang! Very reliable, pretty fast, stronger than he looks, versitile, but not very agile. (I can't remeber a single DB CP as made miss in the open field since he has been with the Skins)

Betts is kind of like a Camaro. A cheap copy of the original (Mustang), maybe a little more powerfully but just not quite a Mustang.

It's terrible to call CP a Ford. I'd liken Clinton to a Honda NSX.

- He's not cheap but for what you're getting he's a bargain.
- Reliable
- Underrated
- Might have some age on him but still puts up good numbers years later
- Not too flashy but gets the job done
- A lot of power out of a small engine/body

Betts is good but he's not even close to Portis in making the team better.

Portis is a very special football player, Betts is just a very good football player. Betts certainly contributes and makes the offense better but Portis not only contributes on offense he also makes the whole team better.

I also hope that they make sure that Portis cannot play until he is able to - there is no sense bringing him back 1 game early and then lose him for the rest of the season, or worse.

Let's put it this way, we can make the playoffs with Betts but we have a chance to win the Super Bowl with Portis - Betts without Portis is not getting this team into the Super Bowl. Not saying we might go to the big dance, I just want Portis to be able to play well and if that means he misses some games than that is what he should do.

we still have a chance at being a playoff team with Betts - we are a far better team with Portis (healthy  )

Sounds like someone that has never had a new Mustang! Once in your system you never get them out. Plus they are extremely reliable!
