Have my IP address tracked, tell me how many times I have lurked at the board. I beg you. Then report your findings on how often I have even been to the site... need my IP address? or do you want me to send it to Sean myself?

I have played Fantasy football with the members here...i have invited these same member to my fantasy baseball league...i get PM's all the time asking my to join in family functions with the posters here who are from around my way....

100's of posts that say they like me being here...

Anyway, I read through most of this stuff. Smizzy does bring out something in our Boss, because the Boss keeps coming back for more. I love it. They both show great love for their respective teams when they get to going. I personally understand that these posts on this forum are supposed to be all about Redskins and all about football. Really, I do. I myself have been allowed the occassional departure from the main topic, here and there.
But, here's my thing.
Boss, you know something ? It is your board. One press of a button, and anyone you want goes bye-bye. There's no denying your power and authority, or that of your mods. It's true. You don't make much, if any money on this, and that's just plain wrong. Anyone who knows anything about websites can see the work that has gone into this. You also know that this forum attracts way,way more people than say, "The Lounge". Were Smizzy to post something in that particular forum, well heck ! It might be weeks before anybody caught it. No, "Hogwash" is THE place to be when you come here. It's where you talk about the team.
Smizzy has a unique voice, and the temper of an Irishman in a dry town. (I'm Irish/Scottish, btw !) All this other nonsense aside (and, boys...it is nonsense), we're football fans. I wonder that, if somebody had a decent argument to Smizzy's initial post, would the event cascade have taken us to this boiling point ? I don't think it would have, since Smizzy really doesn't have any heart in his postings. He's just participating in the most active football forum in the world, IMHO, where a mostly well-educated demographic roots for their team. We've got doctors, lawyers, students, military, future Agents (peace out, gambit!) and yes, even lowly front-end loader operators like me. He knows he's gonna get a response here, and he's here for that. It's the only thing that keeps him here. There's always something going on here, and that is the end result of the vision and creativity of Mark Solway. It seems though, that he can't very well control every voice of 700 different mouths. That's fine. How could anyone ?
Smizzy's very first post included a cut-and paste of Boss' first response to the topic. Boss said, "So the question of whether Gibbs' will win is moot... (a few spaces under that, it continued) ...because he already has." (It's called a "dramatic pause" in conversation. On the web, it could be part of a signature, which nobody reads after the first four hundred times.) Essentially, the same thing Boss said on the radio the other night to close out his spot.
Smizzy took that to mean, "It doesn't matter if Gibbs wins or loses, just so long as he's back in Washington. That's all we care about." He responded to that, because his understanding of what he read is ridiculous. He thought we were saying that the record at the end of the year is moot, just because we have Joe and his three SB wins back.
So, the cascade begins on a simple misunderstanding, which escalated into a real pissing contest. Can't we all just get along ?

tcwest...you hit the nail on the head ,although i don't think im here just for shock value...or to get a rise...Im well respected on many chat boards,especially my own...I do chime in and share my opinion in hwta goes on with the skins because it whats in the "hogwas" forum just like you said.

Plus...thats exactly how i read boss hoggs post...and you filled in the blanks well in coming to my conclusion...but my post saying that "i didn't think what gibbs did before has any bearing on how he should be judged this time around"..wasn't a absh on the skins or gibbs and thats how everyone took it...becasue of who i root for.

Anyway....anyone who has a problem with me can PM me to resovle it...or you can call me out in the proper forum and we can talk there....i have no problem talking trash .

Smizzy, you know I'm down with you, and I don't ride herd or drink the Kool-Aid. Still, you ought to take a look around you. It's a Burgundy and Gold Jungle, my man, and green doesn't camouflage well here. The avatar gives people a "reason" to spout off. I think Mark is trying to be even-handed, but man...you have a way of getting under his skin.
Believe me when I tell you, it's all good. When people cut their teeth on Smizzy, they leave well-prepared to handle the anti-Snyder (and I'll never buy that you are anti-Redskins, despite any contrary statements by anybody) comments that they'll certainly hear in their personal lives. For me, it's great practice. I live in New York, as you know !

Ahhhh, I already told you that in a PM. Be yourself, and don't be bothered by inflammatory nonsense. It's mostly an "event cascade", and not everybody who answers you speaks for everybody who reads you. We all could be better served if each of us would simply read through a post in its entirety before shooting off at the keyboard.
