Because of the postponement of the Ravens-Houston Game I was forced to start Devin Hester on my fantasy team. They broke into the 'Skins game to show a Carolina punt. I was going Whoohoo! Hester returned one. It tuned out to be LLoyd. Then they broke in later to show Hester being carted off.

Not good. I still won the day off the back of my Redskins players, though.

Why didn't we use him on punt block team?

I know I was really hard on him here at Washington, but I'm really happy he's doing well with the Bears.

I'm in no way hacking on Lloyd, I wish him the best and hope Bears fans get something out of him over the coarse of the season.
But Lloyd had 5 catches for 66 yards yesterday. On a team with little talent and no depth at the WR position, those numbers aren't anything to get all excited about. He is contributing, so that certainly can be taken as a positive.
Lloyd's TD was a gift. The punt was blocked by someone else, the ball fell in Lloyd's hands and he simply walked into the end zone. He just happened to be standing where the ball came down after the block.

That's true - but, the flipside is that the catches me made were important and some were of the acrobatic sort that the Redskins wanted from him in the 1st place. If those balls had been thrown at another WR they wouldn't have been caught. While he has been unspectacular stats-wise so far I have been impressed by his attitude, his work ethic and his ability to catch a poorly-thrown ball. I had feared the worst after reading all about him here over that past two seasons and then learning the Bears had picked him up. Thankfully, it doesn't look like we have gotten ourselves another Archuleta situation.

I noticed in week 1 that both of his catches weren't gimmies. One was way high and the other was low. I'm pulling for him and the Bears (as long as you're not playing the skins). I've liked the Bears since way back with Jim McMahon.

Believe 99% of the crap that was said about him when he was here. Trust me, if he wasn't doing well this thread would be chock full of people feeling mighty good about themselves. But it's par for the course to see an absence of haters in regards to poorly handled Gibbs 2.0 regime players.

I've admitted my stance. I hated him here while he was wearing 85. I also said I hope we get rid of him soon b/c he was young enough still to produce for someone else. I don't will ill on anyone (If I did though, T.O. would be #1 on my list).

And yet, that's exactly what this post sounds like in reverse.

That's why it's in the appropriate forum, "Around the League." a FORMER Redskin is being discussed with a fan from his new team.

Great game - good enough to beat Tampa but not good enough to beat the ineptitude of the referees.
Man, I'm seething.

in only 3 games with the Bears Lloyd already has half the amount of receptions, half the yardage, and more TD's then he ever had with the Redskins in 2 seasons in which he played 23 games..
makes you wonder
3 games with the Bears- 13 receptions 216 yards 1 TD
23 games with Redskins - 25 receptions 379 yards 0 TD's

Keep in mind, Lloyd's limited playing time in DC was less to do with talent or ability and much more to do with a lousy attitude, poor behavior and causing trouble in the locker room and behind the scenes. Throwing your helmet, verbally attacking coaches and staff and giving up on plays when given a chance will not win you points with any coach.
Gibbs was in a tough position, but couldn't reward that kind of behavior as it would set a bad example for the rest of the locker room. Lloyd also had troubles in San Fransisco as well.
Perhaps Lloyd is a bit more matured and realizes this may be his last chance. His successes with the Bears may be evidence of a new attitude, knowing if he fails or gets cut again, it could be all over for him.
Then again, he may have finally realized his rap career was going nowhere, so to keep a roof over his head, needed to earn a paycheck playing football.
