Does anyone see a bright future for Campbell with short, precise, passes?????

His accuracy is not all that good, specially in the short zones. He´s much better in the mid and long throws, as far as I´ve seen on actual game time.

Man, this HC search has become a real pain.

Everyone can point to whatever they want about Gibbs. How he looked lost, made questionable decisions, had a losing record, conservative play calling, poor personnel choices, ...

What I point to is TWO PLAYOFF appearances in four years with very little talent at QB. This team had made the playoffs ONCE in twelve years since he retired the last time. Get ready for that to happen again.

He won more playoff games than the Cowboys have since Bill Clinton started his second term in the White house. In Gibbs' second year, he matched the number of playoff appearances Norv had in 7 years!

And this team really isn't that talented. We have a lot of good players but only one or two great players. Overall this team is average in talent. But Gibbs still willed them to two playoff runs.

 SkinsFreak - thanks for the break down and analysis.

I'm just mystified by the selection of Zorn before a HC announcement.

It does sound like Zorn is well regarded by both the C squarks and others in the NFL - I remember thinking he was a tough QB, back when  I think that getting him on board is not a bad thing - it's just curious timing UNLESS as others have said there is a possibility that (a) the new HC indicated that he wanted Zorn OR (b) Cerrato (and Snyder) were concerned that he was going to not be available for long and they really wanted him.

Zorn could work out fine - it's just not SOP - although, with these guys nothing is as it seems
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

In any event, Fassel is the clear choice here which is extremely disappointing.

I may be wrong about Fassel. I'm thinking Josh McDaniels or Steve Spagnuolo. I think both of these guys would be OK. Mcdaniels seems like a better fit though. He specializes in QB's, and has even worked for two years as a Defensive coach. He also served as a scout for a couple years for the Pats. I worry about having too many hands on JC though with him. Zorn will already be working on him.

Spagnuolo would be alright as well. He actually worked for the Skins back in the 80's under Bobby Beathard. Then Beathard took him to San Diego for a few months. The thing about this would be that we already have a very qualified DC in Blache and I'm wondering if this would make any sense.

I think my vote would be for Josh McDaniels. Hopefully not Fassel. I think that would be a big mistake.

And what we have done so far has not been one big mistake after another?

At this stage we have lost Gibbs, Williams and Saunders - not too sure what the complete fallout will be, but there are going to be a few more, trust me

I wonder how many draft picks we are going to both trade away and lose in the next few weeks?

CONTINUITY! CONTINUITY! DON"T TALK TO ME ABOUT CONTINUITY!

This is ugly now and I have a feeling we are not going to be looking any better soon

Oh my! If either of these guys had half a brain they would not have allowed this to get this out of hand.

I would not be surprised to hear that Gibbs had found that his family needs were really requiring a lot more of his time than he first thought
