Hey all! I'm new to this site. I've been a Skins fans since '82 and this has to be the most satisfying finish to a season since '91. Mostly because the way we finished but also because of Sean. I live in Baltimore and I've had to endure too much crap from Raven fans since 2000 but tomorrow I am going into work with a HUGE smile and asking them where the Ravens are now!!
I really think this could be a playoff run like the Steelers had two years ago. They have the momentum and everyone knows we have the players and the coaching staff to go deep in the playoffs.

To be fair to HS666, a few of the things he identified as wrong, are what they are. This team was not playing well.
So, what happened? To tell you the truth, I do not really know. Who would have thought? Even the most loyal and optimistic among us did not and could not have foreseen this end-of-season outcome.
There is one BIG lesson to all of us regardless of where we seat on this debate:
Joe Gibbs and the Washington Redskins should not be UNDERESTIMATED by anybody. All of the sudden we are one of the most dangerous teams going into the playoffs in the NFC and we could go "deep" into the playoffs.
I will take one game at a time. But I just do not know what hit me over the last few weeks. I am still numb. Am I dreaming?

Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!

What the hell are you talking about? I knew all along.

As for what happened? Joe Gibbs happened, that's what. Did you have any doubt?

Hail to the Redskins!
Joe Gibbs teams usually do great in December play. This season was no difference.
I think its interesting to note that in the NFC East Division, every team is a .500 or better team. No other NFC Division even comes close! (Only the AFC South Division can make the same claim.)
Out of four teams in our Division, three are going into the playoffs!

Well, I don't know about awesome, but we're pretty darn good right now. And there isn't a team in the NFC that anybody could describe as awesome, so we have a chance to go further now.
Awesome is however exactly the right adjective to describe the achievement of Joe Gibbs and the Washington Redskins this season.

Agreed. The NFL is returning to what is proper. The NFC East is smashj-mouth power and good. Without looking it up, I can't remember a season from '71 to '92 when there were not at least two possible NFC champs in the NFC East. Often three. I wish the Cards were still in the East, because The Redskins, Giants, Cowboys, and Eagles are all tough.

The NFC East has been represented in nearly half of all SBs, winning a quarter of them. No other division comes close. Ours is historically the toughest and the best division in football. That will never change.

I'd love to agree, but I have no idea what you just said.

Just for fun though, can you show me how the "GREATEST" team, the Washington Redskins, even resemble a team? I mean, really...they're a joke. All that talent, as usual, but can't win a darn thing. No teamwork at all, either side of the ball.
I would say that 4 in a row showed it pretty well. . .but that's just me.

good point FFA

You know - I was looking through the posts today and I remembered there were some who were advocating after the Buffalo game that it would be much better to lose all our remaining games than win them because of our draft position and obvious (to them anyway) needs at so many positions, in order to be competitive again. At that time anyone who advocated the team should try and win EVERY game were obviously (to those know it alls anyway) not in touch with what was best for this team

I wonder if those same people would now advocate us losing this game this week - after all if we are the first out we improve our position in the draft and isn't that the most important thing for this team?

I also wonder if any of those brilliant posters will admit they didn't have a clue about what they were thinking?
C'mon crow eaters - be a little humble, own up to it - you were wrong

this is the same team - we are just playing very well together - we do not need to blow up the ship
We are awesome, well not quite but we are getting there

HAIL
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)
