Another game where Duckett wasn't used. Our personnel people officially stink.

Ironically enough, he was the Redskins "Subway Fresh Face of The Game" before it started. It also said the Redskins welcome his size and bruising style at running back.

What a crock. I would be insulted if I was Duckett and saw that.

They need to use him or trade him. They're screwing him big time.

When should they have used him? When we were down by 3 with 1:00 to go or on defense?

Yeah, I actually feel bad for the guy. He didn't even ask to be brought into this foolishness.

Sorry for not being clear - it's not about this particular game - it's about swapping away more draft picks for a guy on a 1 yr. contract who's not even being used!!!!!! That's what's insane!!

Can't wait for someone to say we're still saving him for the post-season!!

This whole Duckett thing makes no sense at all. We trade a 3rd round pick and we're going to have to swap first round picks with Denver for this guy and all he does is sit. This is going to cost us bigtime since we could use the 3rd for much needed depth and we'll like be giving Denver a top 15 pick for a pick in the late 20's. They asked Gibbs about Duckett not playing during the Coach Gibbs Show on NBC and he gave a total bs answer, saying "nobody feels worse than me about TJ not playing." What exactly that means I have no idea but it sounds assinine and I'm sick of this kind of busch league management of the Skins.

We are stupid from top to bottom..Vinny Cerrato is a buffoon...what is his background?

With players like Taylor, Cooley, Samuels, Jansen, Rogers, Marshall etc being key pieces to our team...you would expect people to learn that you need DRAFT picks to build a team...we constantly turn our nose up to the draft...and why? Because were impatient and foolish.

Hindsight is 20/20 but we would be soo much better if we re-signed Smoot and Pierce and kept Ryan Clark.

Why is Adam Archuletta paid more than any other safety in the league when he isn't even the best safety on our team.

What is the logic of that...if I were Sean Taylor I would want out of here...its a slap in the face...but hey, we slap all of our players in the face so I guess it should be expected.

He's not. He was when we signed him, but since then Roy Williams of the Cowboys signed a deal that blew AA's deal out of the water.

Hogster --

You mentioned "Marshall" in the same sentence with Taylor, Cooley, Samuels, Jansen & Rogers? He has NOT played well all year. If you watched the game today, tell me how many plays that guy made. I do NOT remember his name getting mentioned the entire game and the Titans ran the ball over 30 times! For a MLB to not have his name called an entire game and the other team runs that ball that much means -- he's clueless.

Our group of LBs are playing very badly. I think we need to play Rocky and Khari Campbell with Washington -- I am NOT kidding either.

I can't really blame Marshall though because I don't think that he should be playing middle linebacker. He is very good on the outside and a Pierce, Washington, Marshall linebacking corpse would be awesome.

Duckett is going to walk after the season , we panic when Portis got hurt, thats all it was ,we gave up a 3rd pick for a guy who will not be around next season.

Not only a 3rd round pick. Some on the board have been saying that if we finish with a worse record than the Broncos we have to swap first rounders with them.

From what I remember, it's at worst a 3rd rounder. But IF we finish with a worse record than the Bronocs, we swap 1st rounders (but get to keep our 3rd).

So it's either a 3rd or 1st round swap.

Are you sure we keep our 3rd? I thought the 3rd was gone either way.

Your right the trade was not a good one. Only thing we can do now is trade him for a pick, otherwise he won't play or get enough playing time unless someone gets injured. Don't expect him to play.

From what I could find, I think you're right. Here's the deal (best breakdown I could find, most were really ambiguous).

Linky wrote:
Yet somehow it managed to transform no offers into a deal that looks like it will involve Washington's third-round pick in 2007 and the Redskins' fourth-round pick in 2008. Those are the most likely terms of the deal, but the exact terms will not be determined until after this season.

Depending on how each team fares this season, the two teams also could wind up swapping first-round picks, but only if Washington is scheduled to pick between No. 21 and No. 31 and Denver's first-round draft position is even higher. Unlikely, though not impossible.

So good news if we stink, we get to keep our draft pick.

However, knowing our luck, we'll go 9-7, missing the playoffs and getting the 21st pick.

Denver will go 12-4, get the 30th pick in the draft, and we get to swap.

Lose a 3rd, a 4th, and swap 1sts for a guy who picked splinters out of his behind the whole year! :D

So much focus on a guy who really dosent impact this team is nonsense. Giving up a third round pick well just see only time can tell if it will be worth it.

He isn't even decent trade bait right now. We wouldn't get jack with a player that hasn't played. That whole deal was a bust.

Does anyone know if the Skins have to give Denver their 08 4th round pick as well as their 3rd this year? On Bram Weinstein show yesterday he was talking like we were on the hook for the 4th too. I thought that it was just the value of a high 3rd round pick and the thought was that the Skins were going to be bettter than what they were and would have to throw in a 4th too, to make it a "high" 3rd round pick.

i think you underestimate the value of the player. hes a great RB, he has power and size. i think we'll be seeing a lot more of the guy this season.. gibbs like to have a stocked RB core and TJ is a major part of it. if betts continues to have trouble holding on to the ball we could see TJ in ever increasing numbers of goal line situations. plus if betts or portis goes down we need him as a back up. gibbs knows this and in gibbs we trust.

:hmm:
You do understand Duckett is no longer under contract with us and will likely not even be here next season, right?

But we won't. I've heard absolutely nothing about any efforts by the 'skins to re-sign him. Consider him gone, I'd guess.

Actually there was a reference by Gibbs not to count him out yet or something like that. I haven't heard anything definitive but there is at least a possibility. I like Betts (other then his butter fingers) but it just seems since Duckett is a bruiser he brings another dimension.
