yes but what happens when the ref is wrong? where is the accountability? this was huge, it gave them the ball back and took our best player out of the game.

I didn't see any spit, of course I wasn't on the field.

Still didn't Pittman hit Taylor in the face right in front of the ref? Regardless hf he was spit on Pittman should have got a penalty as well.

Refs in the NFL are such homers.

How about that funble the skins recovered where the ref made
a big sign that the bucs got it.

What was he looking at?

Hail and off to Seattle.

Theres the link to the video. Ive been replaying it and replaying it... Its hard to determine when Taylor MAY have spit on Pittman.

The ref is staring Taylor in the face the whole time although its hard to imagine him being able to see past pitmmans arms.

The only time taylor had to spit on him was when the ref was walking towards the two. None of the video available to us will be able to discern anything accurately.

Reports are that in the locker room after the game Gwilliams had a verbal match with Taylor and Williams says Taylor says he didnt spit on him so Gw is saying he believes Taylor so I am going to believe it too.

We all saw the ref. walking towards the two of them and it seemed as though they were talking to each other, this happens all the time. We do not know for sure what happened, but, we did see Pittman take a swing at Taylor and the ref. then threw a flag. The ref. indicated a personal foul on Taylor but said nothing about Pittman taking a swing.
Now I know that the main thing you are told as a player is not to retaliate. If someone kicks you in the groin you are mean't to try to not kick him back or to retaliate in any way because even if the first foul is missed you will most likely be penalised for retaliating.
Why was Pittman not penalised at all? I mean you can penalise Taylor for doing what the ref. thought he did but the ref. (I think) has to penalise Pittman for taking a swing.

Am I missing something here? :hmm:

I used the video and since i cant put that exact frame on a img. than ill describe it. ST spit on pittman. On the end of 3rd second and begging of the 4th second you can clearly see that - there is a line shooting across and since the background is grass and ablack stripe of a ref shirt its clear that he did spit. He is stupid take a look at it

A guy on extremeskins with a 55 inch HD tv said he could see the spit dripping off of Taylors face mask. True? Who knows. The guy who threw the flag is a heck of a ref and I dont see him ejecting a player on hearsay.

If Taylor did it and its proven that he did what do you think Gregg will do to him for lying about it also? <hypothetically (SP)

I don't think we can rule out the possibility of a second spitter.
Where was Keith Hernandez yesterday ?

Ok first of all, the guy on ES who saw it was dead WRONG. We watched on a HI DEF 53 inch t.v. We tivod back to it like 5 times. We saw nothing!!!! Not only did we not see anything, we saw Taylor talking the ENTIRE time. You cannot spit on someone while you are running your mouth the entire time.

And here is my last point. WHY, if Sean Taylor spit before the punch was thrown did the ref stand there and let it go further . That flag was thrown long after the supposed spit happened. It was bogus plain and simple. That guy convinced the ref that is what happened so he would not get ejected for throwing a punch at Taylor.

If you guys believe otherwise then you are believing a ref over your own sight and ST and after the year they've caused us, I would never.

If Dick Butkus played in today's NFL, he would have been expelled from the league. LOL - Yes, it's a dumb thing to do and I'm not condoning it but I think the league over-reacts on everything.

Let the team handle it - Gibbs will take the appropriate action. He's dealt with plenty of problems in the past and can handle this one.

Except he didn't do it, and you can enhance that video all you want, I stil believe ST is innocent. And the league will likely not do a thing once they really review the tape.

Oh, this fine will be at least $25,000.

It wasn't as exaggerated as Roberto Alomar's spit in Toronto, but there was the slightest jerk-up of the head.

B-Mitch thought as much on Comcast.

I don't think he spit on Pitman at all. If you look at the game you can't see any exchange of spit coming from Taylor's mouth. That call was total BS.

Yep I agree with NikiH, I too have an HDTV and my friend and I saw nothing! It was a totally bogus call which will only give Sean Taylor a worse reputation among NFL Refs, which isn't fair.

Plus, Greg Williams quote makes me believe it more. This is just another reason why the hate the NFL... cough cough the stupid refs.

Sean Taylor is a good spitter... Spitting with a mouth piece in his mouth...
