I can't imagine that there's a team that can afford to draft this guy highly and let him sit while he matures and gains not only NFL experience, but gametime experience, period. He left school way too early, if not by choice.

Marcus, I would like to have paper instead of plastic please!

I am a Hokie and I don't think that we have time to deal with an immature person such as Marcus. He needs special attention, we don't have time for that, we have time only to focus on the next championship.

Dependability is key. If you were a GM, coach, or personnel director, how would you like to be wondering each week whether or not Marcus Vick is going to end up in the papers due to a substance abuse suspension or a moving violation morphed into drug bust a la Michael Irvin or Claude Wroten?

He's a liability someone is going to be willing to take a risk on. Because that field of willing risk-takers is going to be so slim, the 4th round would be a best-case scenario for him.

Draft him late on the second day, if he's still there, and convert him to a wide receiver. He'll never be an NFL QB. He may be an outstanding wideout.

If he turns out to be a pain in the butt, see ya later...

Because, we don't "know" that. And because, Gibbs has always been willing to gamble, or take on "projects" with second day picks. Marcus Vick may be a pain in the butt. He may be no more of a pain in the butt than John Riggins. Dexter Manley... Gary Clark. Gibbs can deal with that. If, in the process, he gets a dynamic, fast, possession receiver who gives the added dimension of a strong throwing arm... well... bonus!

The Falcons should draft him.

not to mention he mostly will never play in the nfl anyway unless he plays another position other than qb.

The funny thing is I looked on page one of this thread and then page nine, and they all say the same thing! Anyways, forgive me for giving you people grief! To answer the question, first of all we already have a QB for the future and we have more pressing needs to address. Secondly, don't risk a pick on a guy like Marcus unless you absolutely need him (we don't) and are sure that he is going to turn out okay (we're not).

I tell you what...how about the Redskins take the money that Mini-Vick will ask for and use it to buy a nasty, mean old dog. Then let it bite us right in the tail. That way, we dont have to wonder when it would undoubtedly happen and we could move on sooner.

Good idea, Wingman. If we do that, we've only lost the money, not the pick. Seriously, we don't need to waste time trying to figure out who our next QB is. Let's develop what we have and see how it works out.

Let me clarify I met Mike Vick, I dont like Marcus.

Erik Meyer (Eastern Washington) is the guy the skins need.

Because for a low round pick you can get the QB with maybe the best upside in the draft. I've watched all of his college games (including Spring games) and in my opinion he is more talented than his brother. He runs a legit 4.4 40 yard dash, can make all the throws, and can read defenses.

Last year he was probably the best player on a very good Virginia Tech team. He probably should've won ACC player of the year.

Alright, easy with all the praise for young Marcus there. When you say he is more talented than Michael, I take it to mean that he is a better athlete. This IS NOT the case. While he still a very good athlete, what separates Marcus from Michael is that Marcus throws a better deep ball. Marcuse doesn't rely solely on his athletic ability to get out of jams, as Michael does. Marcus said during bowl season that he needed to stay an extra year to get practice reading defenses. Why in the world would you draft a player that has had so many problems with the law and has been terrible any time he faces a defense filled with good athletes (ie: Miami and FSU in Fall '05)? My bet is that Marcus is lucky to get drafted in the 6th, but IMO should fall out of the draft and be a free agent.

Yes, Young got a 15 on the second try! A 6 on the first, so Marcus is still in the lead when it come to the Wonderlic. However; one problem child on the time is enough (See S. Taylors mess) I'll pass on vicks talent his history speaks volumes! Nuff said!
