You are right about the trade anger posts. But Lavar will be gone at the end of his contract by mutual agreement. So, get used to it. Do not get too attached to him.

Mark my words: I predict he will go to his beloved Pittsburg Steelers, the team of his youth.

At the end of his contract? In what? 6 years? Okay then...

I'll take that!

I've played organized football for 5 years, played every single position on the football field except punter/kicker, and I watch anything that has to do football. Combines, playoff games, NFL network, you name it. I know how the different offensive and defensive schemes work and I can tell you biographys of hundreds of players. I dont fault you and the rest of the members on this board for not thinkin I know a damn thing about football, because I am 15, and you're very right, most teens dont know a DAMN thing. We're all entitled towards our opinions but Im pretty sure that I know more football than about 3/4 of this message board and maybe more. sorry if you disagree :D Does that mean I know a lot about Redskins history such as what Gibbs' strategies, etc. were during the Super Bowl years? No, but I know my present day football thats for sure

Much better post R4L

Now you don't sound like a 15 year old. I think it's great that you love football that much. If you don't make it into the NFL as a player, you seem to have a great start on becoming a scout/coach/GM etc...

I definitely agree that we should not trade Arrington. It seems like he is lashing out in frustration.

I just don't want to see such a jovial and generally likeable star fall into the easy "whine to the media" habit. Just play. It always seemed to me that Lavar was the one pushing to get back anyway...he has an opportunity to finally play for a great D Coordinator who will use his skills. Just do it.

If not for the cap ramifications I would trade him today. He is without a doubt the most ove - Redskin in recent memory. He is big, he is fast, and when he doesn't miss he hits hard, but in all honesty he hasn't been that consistent of a player. I know he has played in different systems, and that has to be a major disadvantage, but for the first time he has the stability and the system to flourish and he pulls this stunt. These spoiled baby millionaires are taking the fun out of the game we all love. And as far as the contract dispute goes, his complaint should be with his agent, not the Redskins, after all, they signed the contract.

Maybe you can help me out with something here.......
Has LaVar had a new head coach AND a new defensive coordinator for every year he's been here? Or is it every year but one? I've kind of lost count. Also, how many position coaches has LaVar been through? I lost count of those about two years ago. I'm just curious. :feedback;

All I want to say to young Mr Arrington is don't make me choose between you and Joe Gibbs. If you tell me one thing, and Gibbs tells me another, I'll choose Joe every time. If Joe tells me your genitals are tiny and green, then I'll believe him.

So, stop your whining, take a look at your bank balance, and chill. Do what the doctor tells you, come back fit, and then play your butt off. Don't tell me that Joe isn't giving you enough love - Joe will give you all the love you want if you just shut up and play your nuts off.

You know you're too good to let go, you know we can't cut you or trade you, so you're going to be around for a while yet. So just belt up and let that talent that you think you've got do the talking. Try setting an example to people like Sean Taylor, and we might just start to believe that you really are a leader on this team.

End of message.

THE NEWS

Redskins' linebacker LaVar Arrington arrived at team headquarters using crutches on Monday after undergoing a previously undisclosed second surgery on his right knee. Arrington declined to say whether there is an established timetable for his return to the field. "I'm taking as much time as I need," Arrington told the Washington Post. "And if that means they're upset and want to get rid of me, then so be it. But I'm not coming back before my knee is better. I tried it their way, and it got me on crutches again." Arrington missed 12 games last season after undergoing surgery to remove the meniscus from his right knee.

OUR VIEW

The good news is that Redskins' officials claim the latest surgery was a relatively minor procedure that eliminated two loose bodies of cartilage from LeVar's knee. Under their timetable, Arrington will be healthy enough to take part in training this July. When healthy, Arrington is a top-20 linebacker in fantasy leagues that award points for individual defensive

I'd take overachieving types like Monte Coleman or Chris Hanburger over this guy's whining ass any day!!!

WHOA! There Nelly! I know this is off the subject, but last years defense was good, but certainly not our best in 30 years. The 1991 deffense didn't allow a single point to be scored on us in RFK during the entire month of September! Three straight shut outs!!! We were 2nd in points allowed and 3rd in yards allowed. We only gave up 224 ponts and our Offense was #1 in the league with 485 points and could score quick, or just run out the 4th quarter. We had Monte Coleman, Matt Millen, Kurt Gouvia, Andre Collins and a linebacker that I wish Arrington played half as well as, Wilbur Marshall. If we could get Laver to play anywhere as good as Wilbur then he really would be a stud. Right now LA reminds me more of Collins than Marshall. That defense was GREAT!!!, last years defense was only very good.

Sorry guys but I have to jump on the bandwagon - Cut Arrington - what's he done but whine and make an ass of himself? Shoot for that fact cut all of them....

Actually I'm sick of the Redskins period.... Nothing they do seems to be smart, consistant or something to better the team. I'm ashamed to be a 'skins fan lately.... and don't call me a fair weather fan - been rooting for them since I was 5 and I turned 41 on Sunday. Between the whiners on the team, idiot owner and terrible record I've had enough.

I called the stadium the other day telling them in a real nice way that I'm not going to renew my tickets because basically I didn't have the money nor the stomach to cough up the money for another sub-par attempt at fielding a team. After all in the 8 years I've been a premium seat holder they've not put up a winning season, kept a coach for more than a year or two and only won one playoff game against a sub-par opponent. Basically I was told very rudely that I would be sued by the skins for breach of contract. Which after all would be true. However, I was also told I was 1 of about 20 people to call with the same excuse THAT day! This tells me that I'm not the only one fed up with this team....

So as we near the season I will be selling all my tickets at face value. If interested please PM me otherwise good luck....

Whoa....hang in there with us Coz

Things can only get better and Gibbs will right the ship. It's not going to happen overnight. I wish I had the opportunity to attend games in person and be a season ticket holder, regardless of the record, owner, coaches or player. It's not about one of those or a combination of any of them, it's about the team brother - that's why were all here. We bleed B&G and will be damned if some spoiled modern day athlete or group of athletes, "ball" coach, "puke" coach, or front office numbskull is going to ruin that for us.

Congrats... In five years, you have played... QB, RB, TE, WR, FB?, OT, OG, C... Wakside and strongside outside linebacker, MLB, which is actually two positions in a 4-4 which is popular before college sports with both a strong- and weak- MLB. Now, that is a ton already, but no, you played even more!

You got in to play DT and DE... You are one big guy at WR or one desperation at DT. Then at DE you played both strong and weak DE. Also, you then played CB and safety.

So, how, create your lies to be somehow possible... You are playing 4.5 positions a year. You must be a greate athlete.

ASHBURN, Va. -- Santana Moss and Sean Taylor are skipping the Washington Redskins' spring workouts because they want new contracts, the latest chapter in a tumultuous offseason that has seen two top receivers request trades and LaVar Arrington criticize the way the team handled his knee injury.

Moss and Taylor are the only two unexcused absentees from the voluntary sessions. Moss is the team's biggest offseason acquisition, and safety Taylor is coming off a troubled rookie season in which off-the-field antics nearly overshadowed his promising talent.
"The only thing I would say to anybody: If you miss the offseason work, I don't think that's good for your career," Redskins coach Joe Gibbs said Tuesday.

"It's not mandatory" to attend, Gibbs added. "You can't make it mandatory, but it is a critical time for us."

Gibbs and Arrington met to clear the air over comments made by the three-time Pro Bowl linebacker. On Monday, Arrington said the team did not support him during his injury last year and implied that coaches rushed him back onto the field. Gibbs denied the claims.

If Tuesday's meeting yielded any positive results, Arrington wasn't telling.

"I said what I said. Y'all don't need a quote," Arrington said as he emerged on crutches from Redskins Park. "Y'all already got what you need. The truth is in front of you."

Gibbs has been in damage-control mode all offseason, and the sagas have involved many of his highest-profile players. The coach also lost two highly valued "core Redskins," cornerback Fred Smoot and linebacker Antonio Pierce, to free agency.

Moss was acquired from the New York Jets for receiver Laveranues Coles, who was dissatisfied with Gibbs' conservative offense. Moss is entering the final year of his contract and wants a new deal, but the Redskins aren't expected to give him one before June 1 because of salary-cap reasons.

Gibbs said Moss' absence is hurting chemistry with quarterback Patrick Ramsey. Ramsey will be working with two new starting receivers next season because Coles and Rod Gardner wanted out. The Redskins are still trying to trade Gardner.

"I've talked to Santana numerous times," Gibbs said. "I think Santana wants to be here. We're trying to work through a process to get him here."

By contrast, Gibbs said Taylor hasn't returned calls. Taylor doesn't like the seven-year, $18 million deal he signed a year ago and he's fired two agents. He was fined for skipping a day of the NFL's rookie symposium and was benched for a game after being arrested on a drunken driving charge of which he was cleared.

Gibbs cited unspecified "complications" of a new deal for Taylor, and the coach tried to be optimistic that the latest setback isn't an indication of a difficult year to come.

"Last year we wound up having a rocky first year," Gibbs said. "I know there are some things that Sean wishes hadn't have happened, and we wish hadn't have happened. I think the lesson's learned there, I hope. What we're trying to do is get Sean settled down here, being a part of this team. I'm hoping any day he's going to show up."

Moss and Taylor are represented by the same agent, Drew Rosenhaus. Rosenhaus did not immediately return calls placed by The Associated Press.

Ive played QB, backup RB, FB, WR, OT, C, DE, DT, OLB, MLB, FS, CB and thats it. I've never played OG I forgot to mention that along with K/P. And you mention that I must be a real big WR or a desperation DT, you have to keep in mind that in youth league football everyone is in the same weight class. This last season, my first playing high school ball, I played MLB, DT, OT, and FB. I'm 5-9, 175 lbs so I could pretty much play any position at freshman level. In 8th grade at youth league I was WR, CB, DT, and DE. I started WR and CB but I got snaps at DE and DT at the end of games? As for playing weakside OLB and strongside, and RDE and LDE thats not what I meant. I've played LDE and SOLB but not RDE and WOLB so sorry if I caused confusion

For anyone who doesn't care that they arent involved in these workouts must not give a hoot about this upcoming season.

One of the BIGGEST problems we had last year was WR chemistry due to the QB switch midway through the season. Ramsey had trouble connecting with the deep pass.

I know everyone watches the NFL network and saw how hard Peyton and Harrison train TOGETHER!!! Chemistry isn't some magic fairy crap that Joe can sprinkle on their toes at night. It has to be done together.

I'm pissed off because this FOOLISHNESS is setting us back. Bench em, or cut em. Sean, Arrington, or Moss. We dont need any one player, we will be successful without or with them.

In a way it is mandatory because players will have to suffer a consequence for not reporting. This is their job, I think these guys think they're muscians, or on the real world. You are paid millions to get ur retarded butt into the weight room and entertain us. They're paid with the money of the ticket buyers and I'd want them giving it their all too if I was kicking out that insane ticket price.
