Not too long ago, there was a website for this. The address for www.smootsmack.com is dead now.
Maybe somebody has it cached.
It was a riot to read.

I remember that site, it closed after he graduated... I'll miss that place :(

In college Smoot once told an Ivy League reciever that if that wideout did Fred's homework for him then Smoot would allow him to catch a pass that day.

I'm really gonna miss Freddy :(

I wonder if Garnell Wilds is really the man though, seems like he got a LOT of help in that Moss game... remember when Taylor BEAT RANDY MOSS ON A JUMP BALL? To me that was 2X as impressive as when he stood up Mo Williams on the goal line.

I'm gonna miss Smoot. He's the type of player I want. Full of heart and always try to stay positive. He loved the area and the D.C. crowd. He brings a great personality to the table.

The Skins don't usually draft players whose stock dropped due to questionable circumstances but we gave him a shot and he worked out well for us.

I think him and LaVar represent the Skins image well in the fact that they have (had) been career-long Skins and it is hard to imagine them in another uniform.

He was sort of like an on-the-field mascot. We had a "character" on the team and he loved his role.

It's disappointing that he thinks the Vikes have a better shot at the playoffs than us because he was on the bandwagon for the "the Skins are going in the right direction" camp.

I wish he would have stayed but these are the cards we are dealt but thankfully we have servicable replacements.

He'll be missed by me.

I'm gonna just chime in with my opinion.

I am not sad that Smoot is gone. The guy played way to far off the line and he couldn't tackle worth a hoot. There are better CBs out there...and, who knows, we may already have a few on our team just waiting to step it up into the starting line up!

Smoot was a funny guy....perhaps even a fun guy....but this team won't miss a beat with his departure.

wow... don't agree with that at all but i know, it's just an opinion... he may have not been the best tackler, but he was WILLING to tackle... and tackle he did even with his chest injury a couple of years ago in dallas. after every tackle he was crawling on the ground to get up... in a few years, most skin fans will look back and realize he should have never been able to get away.

As far as playing off the line, maybe that's what he was asked to do. :-k I'm not too sure.

From what I have seen of him, he is not the best "form" tackler but he lays himself on the line to take the opposition down and he did it quite often, which is honorable.
