I love how we drafted two injured guys (Barnes - broken shoulder, Williams - torn ACL) and two idiots (Glenn - suspended for scalping tickets, Henson - suspended for academic ineligibility).........

I doubt it. This guy isn't a blocking fullback. He isn't going to be leading the way for CP anytime soon.

Broken shoulder isn't bad though. At least it wasn't back or knees

Yeah I know. Hes not known for blocking but he can receive and in a west coast thats important. I agree though its not good bait just thinking.

Redskins in the last 10 years have had 36 picks from the 4th round on and found ZERO... true starters. Not ONE!
Robert Royals - 5th (Starter for both Skins and Bilss)
Chris Horton - 7th
These are just the first two that come to mind. Oh, yeah, Golston and Montgomery were both starters.
But I don't think any of these last three picks will even make the active roster by game one. And I have my doubts about the CB from UMCP, unless they are looking at him as depth at FS and CB.

Rock Cartright is a 7th and has been a special teams demon returning the ball and making tackles.

If I were Washington, I would bring in Brian Toal from BC that plays OLB. Even though he was injured a bit in college with a broken leg, he was really good. He also is a very good short yardage RB on the goal line especially. He was recruited by Tom Obrian and that guy only brings in smart, hard working kids.

Maybe Eddie Williams is bait to make sure Fred Davis gets out of bed during training camp

If we only get 2 out of 5 I would consider it a good draft. (For the Redskins) Remember lots of people said this was a weak draft.

I think one of the LB'rs will contribute this year. Orakpo will get a lot of PT too. We could also see the HBack kid be a special teams guy. That would be successful IMO.

I love that Barnes can come in and play behind Hall, Rogers and Smoot and learn the position and maybe get into a couple packages and situations. That really is how to develop your players.

Thank you!!! I think so also. I think we got a steal. I wish we addressed other needs but hey maybe its just a really weak draft. The one that burns me is the cowpokes pick for rt. I wanted him at 3rd but we might have gotten the better deal.

Ah yes, I see the player personnel geniuses are out in full force at THN.
Teams need to carry 3 TE's. I see Eddie Williams as the potential replacement for Todd Yoder.
Todd Yoder was an undrafted player and
for his career, has 44 catches for 451 yards and five TDs. That isn't very impressive for a player entering his 10th season. While Yoder has been serviceable, Williams is a superior athlete and is an upgrade. I like the pick.
And for some of you hacking on Cerrato, I'm pretty confident the Skins management is familiar with their roster and know where they have depth. This late in the draft, teams rely heavily on their boards and the hard work done by their scouts. For the Redskins, the scouting department is headed up by Scott Campbell.

We're on the clock one more time... what do you say it's a kid from an unknown school who was injured at some point last season?

Damn, I was really hoping for Brian Hoyer... maybe we'll bring him into camp as a FA.

True. Teams need to carry three tight ends. However, they don't need to carry three tight ends whose primary skill is pass catching.

ey, Davis, and Williams are all better pass catchers than blockers. If we wanted another tight end we should've drafted one that is a good blocker.

Obviously we love it if the best players are players at positions you need the most, but when you pass on the better player for need you're by definition reducing your overall team skill, no way to win in the NFL. And in the long run your needs change. Note the high correlation between those bashing our draft results while simultaneously arguing we pass on the best player available so we can end up cutting a player at a position of need, yeah, that's how to build a winner.

Not a single offensive lineman drafted. Pathetic.

Guys, keep in mind that many undrafted players will be brought in and I'm sure they'll sign one or two. Stephon Heyer was undrafted and he's worked out pretty well.

Man, I like this kid Mitchell. Seems like a good pick, but like all rookie WR's he needs to hone his route running... especialy for this offense.

Gee, since the draft is almost over you'd think we would be picking a kid who might be taken by someone else rather then focusing on "need" since almost everyone left is about to be available for free. Sorry, that logic thing again. Bad Kaz, bad...

Not a single offensive lineman worth drafting according to the team.
