Our offense needed to convert that last 1st down...but didn't...our defense made a terrible offense look good.

We have completely flip flopped...now our Offense has to win games for us???

Second road game where we give up 36 points??? I hope Greg Williams realizes that he can't bring the house every frickin play.

Williams needs to let Springs stay in coverage. Blitz Harris. Springs is obviously the better coverman.

Our O definitely could have helped out by making a few more 1st downs to seal the win. Frost could have helped with a nig clutch punt. Our D made Chris look like Phil. just a bad feeling when this game ended.

bad feeling because in the big picture this was the best game the nfl has had in a long time. and the skins D blew it

patjam77 - Good point! We had this one in our grasp and let is get away.

Cooley just said every game the rest of the season is a most win.

I agree.

Every game from here on out will be a must win, Hawaii! And we wasted a 144 yd. effort from CP. The over 100 yd. stat didn't help out today.

Bottom line: you could see Alstott's elbow hit the ground short of the white line. Therefore, the ball could not have crossed. That was a BAD call. What's the point of having instant replay in the NFL if they still blow the call?

Homefield advantage.

Nothing we can do about, we have it next week.

Can't cry over the spilt milk now. Call didn't go our way when it counted. Remember, we did get a call on Bett's TD return.

Homefield advantage my ass.

We've had numerous bad calls go against us at home.

I am sick to my stomach. I know I am biased but I swear no team in the NFL gets more CRAP from the refs than the Redskins. It is a flat out joke.

That's been the story with this team for the last 13 years. Coulda woulda shoulda. DIDN'T

We just struggle playing on the road. I'm just upset mostly that we let Chris Simms beat us.

No way with our defense should he be able to have such a good game. That's just unacceptable.

After we didn't get the first down we needed how bout that punt. That punt was HORRIBLE! we needed to get then at least about the 30. that was just inside the 40.

Even if Alstott was over the line we screwed up by giving them the chance to go for two....

A lot of factors contributed to this loss, and we still had the ball in our hands with a chance to win it. Couldn't get the first. Counldn't get a big punt to pin them deep. D Couldn't hold them out of the end zone. Couldn't get the call on the EP. That's too much couldn't to overcome I guess.

Correct on all counts. Needed one first down, 2 - 3 yards on the 3rd down play to get it...should have rolled out Brunell. GRRRRRRRRR

I'm too angry to say any more...was too jumpy duering the game to post. Grrrfff.

walt harris should be shot. ade jimoh has been playing better than harris, i mean seriously, he's that bad. he can't tackle. he can't cover, and he thinks he's all that and a bag of chips cuz he starts now.

alstott was down. there is no way his arm can bend that way without breaking if his elbow was down as the replay CLEARLY showed. i guess one's head=the ball.

hopefully philly will win on monday, and we can get the tiebreak on both dallASS and philthy. that's all we can hope for at this point.

next week guys, next week--the raiders have a terrible defense. we better pick their sorry butts apart. look for an explosion.

I still can't rid of the feeling that we let this one get aay for so many stupid reasons. But, that seems to be the way it has been for the last several years. We need to stop this trend of being our own worst enemy. Let's start by putting together a W streak starting against the Raiders next Sunday. And with that, I'm outta here.

we do shoot ourselves in the foot. there was no reason to jump offisdes on that near block of the XP, it was definitely not a killer if they had put it through we still had 58 seconds to drive down for the win, or go into overtime. but alas, it happened, and there were some bad calls, which i think we're all going to be pissed about, but its ok, we'll bounce back against the raiders--this is how the resolve of a team is measured, how they stand up and bounce back from adversity. and bounce back we shall, mark my words.

Okay, noob here to the boards, but I'm a longtime Skins fan. The end of that game forced me to come here and sulk with other fans. Why oh why the penalties on that extra point at the end of the game? Just let them kick the extra point and you still have 58 seconds and a couple of timeouts to move down the field and try for a field goal and the win. I realize they still had that opportunity even after Alstott punched in the two point conversion (or not), but by that time the momentum had shifted. This team is just so frustrating!!!

Yep. It took me a couple of hours just to cool enough to come back to the site. Spent the game chatting back and forth with Redskin Dan v1978 in Texas, plus my daughter here in NYC. Great talking and signing Hail to the Redskins until the last 1 minute.

- I can't figure out the defense

- C. Rogers worries me...that he hasn't gained enough traction to start

- a punt???? Think he'll be around next week?

- what team has completed that many long passes this year against this defense? Get well quick, Sean Taylor.

- finally, as mentioned above, why run offsides to block a PAT when the team has 58 seconds to get close enough for a FG; then OT???

I've been a redskins fan my whole life but i've only been following them hardcore since 1999. I'm only 21 so all the years before that i was too young to soak all that was going on.

The story of this team every year it seems is that we can never close out games. We are always giving the team extra chances. This game was no different.

Also on another note we are HORRIBLE playing on the road. We are very tough at home but even if we make the playoffs unless we get homefield advantage (NO CHANCE) we are going to have to pull some kind of miracle cause this team can't win on the road.

I am too upset to post coherently but I will try.

This was a GREAT game from an entertainment perspective. Probably the best so far this season.

A LOT of good gets lost in a loss. Several players played GREAT: Portis, Moss, Sellers, Cooley, ...

SEVERAL players should be re-assigned to other roles, the practice squad or released altogether: Harris is only a nickel back, Pirileau is a back-up at best, Frost should be cut very soon,

We missed C. Griffin the most but also S. Taylor. We are not just the same without these two.

If we had WON, nobody would be going after Joe Gibbs and Gregg Williams. Remember, we scored 35 on Monte Kiffin's Number 1 NFL defense! Nobody could have predicted this game. A first down in our last drive would have won it for us.

I am proud of my Redskins. Tampa will pay back in the playoffs.

The NFC East could not be more even than it is this season.

See you tomorrow. I need a break.
