Did you not see the pass rush, their front four is one of the best in the league.
I thought Brunell played very, very well today.
He didn't take stupid chances, he was conservative with the ball, he didn't get sacked once despite our seive of an offensive line and he did a good job leading the troops.
IMO, with Campbell in this game he gets sacked 5 times.
He didnt play very very well. I know that

* Red Zone offense killed us...thus far...not too impressed w/Al Saunders play calling (but I'll give it a couple of weeks before I'm ready for blood).
* Sean Taylor got rooked on both Personal fouls. One was ridiculous and the other should have been a 5 yarder, at best
* Where was

ey? He should have had a big game....too busy bangin cheerleaders?
* Portis played well...wish we had 10 other like him.
* John Hall??? When is the last time he came through for us. Has he ever come through for us?
* We desperately need Shawn Springs back
* Big, big disappointment on both sides of the ball

ey only had three plays called his way, Spurrier second year he made some clutch kicks, Hall is damaged goods.

I don't know if you are serious or if you are joking.
You said they arent a good defense. They are a great defense. They did what we could not do and thats pressure the QB.

I guess you didnt watch the game either.
He is TOO scared, and the O is so boring...
No!! Why do we have to see these posts so early. I thought Brunnel looked great tonight. Cambell will be a beast when his time comes.. In the mean time, Brunnel plays it extremely safe and WILL keep us in every game. He got it done the last drive of the game, and left it up to Hall. You know how the rest goes...

It was a tough battle in the trenches for sure. You can argue that it was even.
The REAL difference was Brad Johnson. He had plenty of pressure and he still delivered.
Oh! and ladies and gentlemen, children of all ages, may I remind you that EVERYBODY in this board had thei Hognostication WRONG?
What a way to waste an opportunity to move ahead in the standings against the Pukes and Gints! Darn!

So, who feels good about our trip to Puke-land next Sunday? We had our chances and didn't take advantage of them. The D gave up to many yds when we needed to stop them. B Lloyd, A Carter, et al were no shows. Rogers was too soft. Rumph did do better after giving up the big yardage play in the 1st Qtr. O line was porous. Young DT's played well, and even Holdman made a good stop. Season is long way to go and we have a long way to go to improve.

Negatives- WE lost, Brunell, the D couldn't hold up in the fourth quarter.
Portis looked a little gun shy in his tenancity at times. U can tell when he tries to pick himself up that he's still not 100%

Throw down the field to the wideouts and take shots in the End Zone. It was one thing when Moss and

ey were the only options to catch the ball but this dink and dunk crap is totally unacceptable with our stable of wideouts.

Our offense does best in the Redzone by going to Seller or

ey on those Play Action Passes. Maybe Saunders will figure that out next week.

Alot of you guys seem upset with Brunell...I'm not following that logic...he wasn't Tom Brady...but he was no Gus Frerotte either.

I'm not saying it's fair, but if you go around spitting at people, skipping rookie symposiums and crossing Johnny Law you build yourself a little bit of a rep.
Works for creating aligator arms but it gets you some better safe than sorry calls from the refs.

Dont attempt to use logic with some of these people. Someone is pissed at the offensive line because their performance was "boring"...

They are just frustrated and angry. Brunell is an easy target.
The truth is that this offense is NOT clicking.

I must have watched a different game, I didn't see Brunnel as the reason we lost.
The vikes controlled the ball and clock way more than I thought they would.
The redzone offense isn't there yet. Even though I know Portis scores if he cleanly gets that fumbled handoff and then Moss gets hit at just the right moment and drops the td.
Coverage Special Teams didn't impress me. From Frost's kickoffs to coverage.
We didn't make Brad throw the ball before he was ready...he had too much time...where was our rush? The man is so old he's beginning to have short term memory loss. Older than Brunell?
Our new free agents didn't offer much...especially Adam, Andre and Brandon. We need Carter to put pressure on the QB badly.
Next up -- Cowboys at Dallas!

Like Joe said. His reputation did not grab the fask mask, it has nothing to do with it.
How many calls did he get called against him that weren't true? NONE? Exactly. So his reputation is not getting him phantom calls.

The problem isn't Brunell, it's the O line, they were terrible. They gave Brunell no time to throw, he was hurried way too many times. The O line looked like this against the Pats in preseason and need to tighten up and plug the holes. No QB is going to perform while being chased half the time.

Right now the person feeling the WORST is Joe Gibbs.

He had about a 76 passer rating and less than 6 yrds per attempt. That's good if you like to experience your playoffs from your living room. All Brunell did was make Brad Johnson look good, and unlike Johnson, Brunell didn't have a bunch of his dropped.

Baltimore, Bucs, Patriots, Bears, Panthers,Eagles, Pittsburg, Jacksonville are by far better. Then there are other teams like the Giants, Cowboys, Dolphins, Broncos, Falcons, Bengals, Skins, and Buffalo that were better than them last year.
This year might be different since each year is different but NO ONE is afraid of the Viking D. 163 yards passing against the Viking D.....pathetic. No other way to look at it.

It seemed to me he was executing the plays that were called. Now, admittedly, I'm not football tactition....so I'll leave up to you guys that know the ins and outs and intricacies of the offense....but, from my lay perspective....he looked pretty good running what was called.

Who isn't worried about the Vikings front four? There were countless articles written about them and how they'd match up against our defense. That front four shutdown our offense.

This is why we need to look better in the preseason and stop using that "vanilla" crap as an excuse.
