We can't have 4 QB's on the roster though. And if he's on the PS, he'll get picked up by someone.

apparently, we are comfortable with our O-line. there are some good late round prospects. maybe we're waiting for them.

...my best attempt at being an apologist.

This is a terrible pick with Jamon starring you in the face. OL depth, perhaps even a future starter, is far more important than a special teamer, who we wont develop and will likely cut in two years becaue we are the Redskins.

How are you qualified to say who is NFL worthy and who is not? SEVEN NFL teams since the 3rd round passed on Meredith. Including his new team Green Bay. For you to say he's a future starter or even that he is a better pick than Cody Glenn is just plain silly.

Duke Robinson is still out there. (not that we need help at O-line)

The fact that Vinny thinks Heyer can start just shows the unbelievable ego that idiot has. He thinks just because he signs someone off the street and says he's a starter that he actually can be a starter.

Getting Brian Hoyer in the draft would be our only chance to try him out. You could do a lot worse in the 6th round. If he's in camp and IS a good fit for Zorn's offense we can either:

1.) Fake an injury to one of our QB's and put them on IR. (Not good since they cannot practice with the team.)

2.) Dump Todd Collins. (I am okay with this because I don't think he does anything for us in this offense or long term.)

3.) Dump Brennan (Not really okay with this since he looks like he has some promise... of course, that's all talk from Coach Zorn.)

4.) Trade Campbell (kind of a pre-emptive thing for me but this is a LONG shot since other teams may feel they are set at QB and the market isn't good.)

missing the point. not about Glenn's worthiness. it's about value. drafting Tom brady in the 1st round is technically stupid if you can get him in the 6th. drafting a guy that likely wasn't going to be drafted is not getting bang for your draft buck. it's compounded by the fact that it's at the expense of not addressing what is universally considered a top team need. OFFENSIVE LINE

Cadogan is still out there.I have to think we take him if by some small miracle he's still there in round 6.

Cody Glenn are you kidding. NFL Network has him listed at RB and no vid. Was he even at the combine?

That is not at all what the first poster said. But to your point we don't know these team's draft boards, or the process. If he had gone undrafted who says he signs with us? We saw a guy we wanted in a position we thought we could get him and we pounced. The Redskins are actually working the phones talking with other teams in in their opinion this was their chance to get a guy they wanted. To assume he's a special teamer who will be cut is as ridiculous as assuming he's blossom into a superstar who will be a household name in two years.

There's no minor leagues in football. These project picks never work out. Especially ones that aren't special athletically anyway. Matt Jones, ARE, Brad Smith, and Pat White all succeeded because they excelled at another position and were special athletically.

Actually there are several leagues that develope players. Some still around, and some not. But just to name a few, Canadian Football League, Arena Football League, European Football Leage (No More) and lastly, the United Football League (starting 2009/2010). Feel free to speak with Jake Delhomme, Mike Sellers, Kurt Warner to name a few.
