Well, if Carolina had beaten the Gnats, it would have been a perfect day.
Houston is going to be a tough test next week.

I dont think Rak is getting enough credit in this win. Had we not have had Rak. This game would have went to the Pies. Since we now have Rak he has been consistently applying pressure on opposing QBs.
Rak should be MVP for the game. Rogers and Hall had a heck of a game as well. Defense gets the game ball but Rak was clearly our MVP. Even though he got no sacks he had a bunch of pressures.

They got the win. Things will work out. That FG attempt/success was HUGE! Made for a completely different last drive for Dallas. Without it. they're going for the tie and they have several more options. Instead, they get Orakpo'd...BIG TIME.

The TD at the end of the first half made me think of the second Cowboys game in the 92 season. Winning play came when Aikman tried to throw from his endzone. Darrel Green stepped in front of Irvin, having read the play. Aikman had started to throw, tried top pull the ball back, fumbled, mad scramble, Redskins end up with ball and TD. Coach Jimmy mussed his plastered hair.

We still need some bigger guys for the red zone and the interior O-line didn't do that well. But hey, its a win.

Carolina is not going to beat anybody with Moore playing like that.

I like how jobs are constantly on the line, Heyer/Brown was to keep Jamal from getting injured but Ligtenshiger (or however it's spelled) and Dockery are apparently close enough in practice that the coaches wanted film on both of them as well as to keep them fresh. It's really extraordinary we implemented a dynamically competitive environment void of excuse and whimper, as well as debunking incumbent tendencies to enable a rise in caliber per position on the field, evident by a focused exemplary effort tonight. Also, I hate Miles Austin's stupid face

frankcal20 wrote:Listen - our guys played against a very tough team. The problem is our guys honestly tried too hard to make a play instead of just making the play like a catch. Armstrong should have caught that but keep in mind, this was his first start and a big situation to be in. Let him shake out those nerves a bit. Seller's hasn't been looked at with a pass since Joe Gibbs was the coach. I think he's also still working out the blocking scheme w/ the new system.
Frank... this is a complete load.
Armstrong is a pro. He is paid to catch NOW... just the same as he will be in mid-season. He got ONE mulligan... and the play was repeated... with the same result. You make that catch on the second play. I think he'll come around, but there is no excuse. It's the regular season. Make that catch.
Sellers has been a fullback for how many years now? His assignment was to lead block, not to curl around and watch the running back go past him. He was soft last year... and it appears to have continued into this year. Additionally, it's well known that he is not a ball handler. He isn't going to magically develop ball skills now. He's a liability in the pass game...

He gets plenty of credit from me. I think he drew 3 holding calls during that game... almost as good as a sack... except they keep a down.
He is going to have a huge year, I think. Orakpo and Hall were clearly the difference in the game (though both had their hands full with Austin, who was clearly the best player on the field last night... thank goodness he came pretty much alone).
