They said he was a running back for the first three years. Sigh he wasn't even supposed to get drafted.

Arrived in Lincoln as a highly touted running back and is leaving a linebacker with NFL potential. He switched positions in the spring of 2008 after struggling through leg and foot injuries for 18 months. Despite his lack of experience, he earned the starting nod on the weak side and showed himself to have the mentality to play at a high level on defense. He even played in the middle during the season. His senior season did not go exactly to plan, as he played only nine games due to a suspension for violating team rules. In that time he made 51 tackles, six for loss and had four pass breakups, causing scouts to wonder what he might become with more experience.

SCOUTING REPORT: A converted running back who showed great promise after the position switch, Glenn is a developmental project in the making. An active, consistent tackler who shows good blitz instincts and the ability to shed solid contact, Glenn had an impressive senior season before missing the last quarter of the season due to a suspension. This obviously raises some character issues. On the field, however, Glenn is a physical defender with good hands and pursuit. He also has defensive back speed and can cover well in the flats and down the seams. Glenn doesn't really represent the ideal build or bulk for a linebacker, and his lack of experience obviously impairs his awareness and football IQ. Glenn needs to erase all durability and character issues and make an impression on special teams to attain a roster spot in the NFL.

Looks like a good project pick. He's tough, played LB and has a high level of skills. Nice to see them take a chance on a big make or break pick at LB.

And he has durability issues. We don't worry about health problems though while drafting.

Orakpo, Barnes, and Glenn all have health questions. Doesn't mean anything in the NFL most players get hurt sometime in the NFL

I like what the skins do early in drafts, but with the exception of horton, blades, and maybe golston, they are pathetic late in drafts. They pass up guys who could start for special teamers. Dallas Sartz anyone?

He could be brought in for special teams this year and to work under K.O., he can learn the position. Having good speed helps.

This is a terrible pick with Jamon starring you in the face. OL depth, perhaps even a future starter, is far more important than a special teamer, who we wont develop and will likely cut in two years becaue we are the Redskins.

Well, it's too early to pass judgement on this guy (he could be a future star for all you know) but here's some guys in the last few years:

Kareem Moore (ST ace), Colt Brennan (maybe best QB in the late rounds), Chris Horton (player of the week), H.B. Blades (solid linebacker, potential starter), Anthony Montgomery, Cedric Golston (two starting quality DT's) and Reed Doughty (starting caliber SS)

That's 7 NFL quality players in the late rounds in 4 years. Not too shabby.

Meredith is finally off the board. I hope Brian Hoyer is available at our next pick.

Clearly, the Redskins (and many other teams) did not value Meredith nearly as high as Kiper.
