What would happen if Ramsey starts?

Talk about the Washington Football Team here. Do you bleed burgundy and gold?

Yes, Brunell is having an awful year and I too cringe when he drops back to pass. But is Ramsey really the solution right now? We'd like to think he is, but who are we? We're just fans. Let's see how this thing plays out, but give them a chance. Eight games is not giving them a chance.

Nobody knows for sure if Ramsey is the solution, and that is why he should be starting right now. Assuming that this year is a building block for next year, do you honestly think that this team will be succesful next year with a qb who is just starting to see game action in a system for the first time. If the Skins are building for next season, that's all the more reason for Ramsey to play. What if Ramsey starts next year and plays horribly? Then the Skins will have wasted 2 years because of terrible qb play. Clearly we are not going to make the playoffs this year so lets put in Ramsey and see if he has what it takes to be a succesful qb for this team.

As for 8 games not being enough I have to disagree with you. If the passing game was improving then I would agree with you and say give them more time. But our passing offense is just as bad now as it was in week one. The coaching staff has made significant improvements in the running game, but they've had 9 weeks, if you count the bye, to right things in the passing game. And since we have a hall of fame coaching staff that i'm sure is working hard, you have to look at the players...The line is doing enough to give Brunell time, the receivers are open, and the running game is coming around so the obivous conclusion is that the qb play is what's holding the team back. Despite what Gibbs said in his press conferences this week, he clearly did not trust Brunell to throw the ball in the second half against the Lions. Even the Ravens trust Boller enough to let him throw more than twice a half. And if you're just going to run the ball then why not put Ramsey in?? At least it would give him the experience...yet for some reason Gibbs is the only person around the NFL who actually thinks that Brunell can still play. Should be really interesting when we play the Eagles and Steelers....

You make some very good points and we all agree that Patrick is going to be a very good QB. Unfortunately, as has been pointed out a few times on various threads, this decision can be vociferously debated BUT the 1 guy who makes that call seems to disagree.

I actually think we are getting better and for that reason am willing to wait (albeit anxiously!) unti Joe thinks it's right to make the change and not because someone might "accidentally" run over Mark in the parking lot!
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)
