SportsTalk 980, Al Cokin, made a great point.

Sean Taylor skipped out of the rookie seminar that the NFL holds for rookies every year. The whole point of the seminar is to teach the rookies how to avoid mistakes like this.

Taylor was probably out the day they talked about "proper drunk driving".

Take that for what its worth.

Its true...but you lose your license for a year if you refuse.

*Update*

MANY Redskins players were partying together last night for Rod Gardner (10-26-1977) or Antonio Pierce (10-26-1978) Birth Days.
I guess they figured they could be ready for the 12 PM practice on Thursday.

It is a shame that they did not have limos or at least cabs. The veterans should have been looking out.

SportsTalk980.com (AM) said they will talking to Sean Taylor in a few minutes on the John Thompson show w/ Doc Walker.

Two word on this.... Dexter Manley.

Gibbs is the type of father figure coach that will help his young players instead of showing them the door. Taylor will learn that some people are actually here to help, and want nothing more that to see a young man mature in to a great player but more importantly a great person. This type of mistake will help Taylor in the long run. He got lucky he did not hurt anyone or himself. I'm sure Gibbs will help him see that.

What are the results of the talk? What'd he say?

Have not talked to him... I think Thompson meant to say "we'll talk about Taylor", I dont think Taylor will talk to anyone for a while.

you can listen live though at sportstalk980.com
They have talked about it since 4 and will most of tonight (The John Riggins Show is on at 5 PM).

Maybe this is why the guy scored a 10 on his Wonderlic? Not too smart in my book!

Driving Drunk could have been a huge deal, look at what it got Dwayne Goodrich a few years back! He's lucky he only got a DUI, unfortunately the NFL will do nothing for this but suspend a guy for taking Ephedrine. Go figure?

How bout QC

I believe he was let go by the Cowboys and nothing has come out about what it was. It couldn't have been a failed drug test, because that's wrong. Even though the speculation is that it was a failed drug test for Marijuana. He didn't smoke and drive, he didn't get caught and we don't even know what he did and probably will never know? Quincy is no loss though, you gotta come with something better than a guy that is not even on our team anymore.

Taylor knows America's Team rules!

Those starts in his ear look pretty gay. But then again those are the Cowboys stars, so why am I Surprised?

lol.

Im very dissapointed in ST. I didnt feel as bad when I learned that it was a team get together but the fact that he choose to drive is still a dissapointment.

Im more dissapointed in his teammates who allowed him to do so, we can be mad at Sean but he obviously wasn't in a clear state of mind to make such decisions. Thats not an excuse but his team should have been there for him and each other if at all possible.

Those have got to be the worst earrings I've ever seen.

 Stars ought to be out-lawed from any Redskin's attire!

I would have penalized him for wearing this stars also!!!

LOL

"In a press conference today, Coach Allen stated that Rookie sensation S. Taylor will be fined on two accounts. One account being the DUI. The 2nd for wearing what Coach Allen called, "gay Cowgirl attire". Coach went on to say that stars have no place in the RedSkins organization except when Cowgirls are seeing them from being hit."

!!!!I have lost friends to drinking and driving, drive bys in our neighborhoods, drive bys in Iraq, Somilia, Sudan, and Isreal.

Sorry about your friends and mine.

To me drinking and driving is a big deal when someone is injured or harmed. Should people do it?? No. Have I done it before? Yes.

Drinking while operating is careless not stupid and will be part of life as long as ther is alcohol and vehicles.

He's right, sadly there are somethings in life that are unavoidable.

Sean, my boy...it's time to put the toys away and be a man. You have a job, and people counting on you.
I won't get down on him. Above all else, he's still a boy in a grown-up world. His erratic behavior early on was indicative of something bigger coming.
Hopefully, this was it. Nobody got hurt, this time.
Do it again, and the odds start working against you.

sucks. but i can't say anything. i've done it. will probably do it again. i'm not saying i get piss-hammered and drive, i know my own limits. but i'm sure i'm over the "legal" limit on the rare occasion. not sure what the legal limit is in VA, but in NC its .08. you can have a couple drinks with dinner at a restaurant and blow over on the drive home. i don't think the breath test is exactly accurate. but in taylors case, he failed a sobriety test, and thats not good, because thats a little more truthful.

here in NC, refusing to blow is kinda smart. a good lawyer can twist things around, and most of the time depending on how much loot you put up, you can get out. money shouldn't be a problem with taylor.

not very wise for the guy, but its not the end of the world. taxi's are chump change when you make that kind of money.

I figured ya'll hadn't heard from Gambit187 in a while and thought I would share what he posted on one of the Cowboys sites.....

gambit187 wrote:Well fans I think I said it first on several sites. (Silver star Digest, hog.net)

Taylor may be a bust.

Lets look at some of the facts.

1. Knock on him outta college was him immaturity.
2. Flip Flopping about agents.
3. Pie in the face and his eyes are damaged he cannt practice...WHATEVER
4. Leaving the mandatory rooking meeting to supposedly go to Miami so he wont be evicted, but he ended up here in DC at the Lavar Arrington/ Julian Peterson all white BARBECUE....
5. Getting hurt early in camp.
6. The freelancing in Greg Williams system which has been the reason he has come on slowly.

What the hell was a 2-4 team doing partying on a Wensday night during the season. If this was the BOYS, the media would be all over it like butter on a dayum roll. All the high priced over paid veterans and superstars on the Skins, have no leadership.

WE MAY BE SINKING, BUT THE SKINS ARE AT THE OCEAN FLOOR RUSTING

That's definately a Gambit post, notice the improper grammer, the bad spelling and in some cases, he even used the wrong word.

No, it's not. But driving under the influence can be very deadly. It's a serious (and very dangerous) thing to do.

D.U.I. is not good and if Sean Taylor is guilty of it, I hope he gets slammed.

Many States, like Delaware, don't distinguish between DUI and DWI.

I am not 100% of the differences between the two for States that do.
