I remember his dejection when his WR didn't go to NY, who had the #2 overall pick. They needed a WR, and there were only two good ones. They took the one from Texas, Lam Jones.

Oh, he was livid. That means, I was thrilled. I looked to see where his receiver went. He went to Washington with the 18th pick.

His name ? Ah, I'll leave you hanging there.

I lived in New York then...didn't the Jets trade up to get Johny Lam Jones? It's hazy to me.

I remember that the Post said that the Redskins needed a WR like Charlie Taylor...big, fast, good hands, good runner...maybe someone like Taylor who had started as a running back...

Once you live in DC, you aren't going to be anything other than a Redskins fan!

Of course, then a certain JJ Gibbs takes over, and after a somewhat "iffy" start, as we say in the UK, "the boy done good!"

Well this guy has stolen my story, but as he says, there was only one team we were going to follow. I'm so happy Gibbs is back, can't wait for the season to begin.

CAN'T REMEMBER THAT FAR BACK but I was a fan when they made the Sonny J for Norm S trade with Philly (Happy Days) and I remember going to see Jim Brown (Browns) play his last game in DC. I think Otto Graham or Bill McPeak may have been the coach.
