Yea I saw where he said "the starters will play...we have 53 starters"

Heard a good interview with Ross Tucker this AM. Recounting the story of when he played with the 2004 Bills game in week 17 vs the Steelers. Steelers were 14-1, clinched home field and playing backups. Bills just needed a win and one of two teams to lose for them to make the playoffs.

Worst Buffalo Sports Moments #8 - Bills Lose To Steelers Backups, Miss Playoffs

Buffalo hosted Pittsburgh in Week 17, needing a win and some help to get to the playoffs. The win seemed to be a foregone conclusion, the Bills would be playing for their playoff lives while the Steelers had nothing to gain, and would play their backups.
I hope the Redskins players are focused and ready to get this one done. Can't take anything for granted!!!

I will guarantee that the Redskins coaches and players are focused and well prepared to win this game

the ONLY question that we will not know the answer to is ... will they have the desire to do what it takes to win the game

the team with the most desire, normally wins the game, NOT the team with the best players or the best record

AND

having more desire normally takes the bad calls and luck right out of the equation

I hear what you're saying. I do coach another sport though myself, coaching two teams and I'll bet well over 100 games through the course of the year. There are probably those games where you can "want it more", but IMO NORMALLY the team with the most talent who have trained and prepared the best are the team that wins most games. I don't see why football would be any different.

I think you're right though. They should be focused and prepared. I just hope no one is thinking its going to be easy just because OBJ may only play half the game or something.

I am more afraid of a poor coaching decision than poor player performance. These guys want the 'Ginas like raw meat, it is thru them they we get to the playoffs. If Beckham sees the field Norman will wear his ass out and Mr. CriticalMomentInterception will think Baker, Kerrigan & Smith suited up in Giants uniforms they'll be so close to him. These guy know they can make it happen, they've done it. If the Giants come to play it'll be a great game.

I am more encouraged by the improvement in attitude that this franchise has shown in the past 2 seasons - admittedly the MNF game against the panthers was abysmal, these guys are a lot tougher group than we've seen and I expect a tough response to the challenge

this is a big game for our franchise - I hope to see an appropriate response

As much as I want to see Mack truck gash the ginas for 150 yards and a couple scores... I'm good with Kirk and Co connecting for 370+ to lock up a 5,000 yard season and a gina beatdown at home.

However we do it.... please... JUST WIN!!!

Teams who want it more beat teams with more talent every week. I'm sure we will want it enough.

My only real concern is playing tight while the Ginas play loose.

Interesting take from Spags about stopping the Redskins offense. His remarks about the Redskins offensive line is most enlightening of all.

http://www.giants.com/news-and-blogs/ar ... b38a680788

“They might have more weapons than anyone that we’ve faced so far,” Spagnuolo said this week. “Every week, we put up the players that we need to stop. This week, the list was really long. Usually, you have three or four, but this week we ran out of room on the page. They’re scary good on offense. We have to figure out a way to slow them down enough so that our team can win a football game. They can move the ball and score points.”

That they can. The Redskins are third in the NFL in yards-per game (411.3), second in yards-per-play (6.5), and second in passing yards-per-game (300.8). They have scored 386 points – 95 more than the Giants. Quarterback Kirk Cousins is second in the league with 4,630 passing yards, has completed 67.3 percent of his passes, and has thrown for 24 touchdowns against just 10 interceptions. Washington has three wide receivers (Pierre Garcon, Jamison Crowder and Desean Jackson), two tight ends (Pro Bowler Jordan Reed and Vernon Davis), and a running back (Chris Thompson) with at least 42 catches. Rookie running back Robert Kelley has been an impressive No. 1 back in the second half of the season, and the offensive line is huge from tackle to tackle and features Pro Bowlers in Trent Williams and Brandon Scherff.

“We’ve played some teams that have had some skill outside, but the O-line has struggled, so you attack them and win that way,” Spagnuolo said. “This team doesn’t really have a weakness. They all can take short passes and go long. We know DeSean Jackson has been doing it forever. We just have to go in and do what we need to do. We have to be the best us. Try and stop the third-ranked NFL offense.”

They've been a team that's been able to bounce back. Making the playoffs after an 0-2 start is really tough. Especially with those being two home losses. If they can pull it off today, you have to give them some credit for that.

Let's face it, McAdoo has more motivating to do than Gruden today, how do you get your team up when 1. They are playing for nothing. 2. They know they may not play the entire game!

it's a lot easier when the other team decides they don't want to play - right now we don't look like we could beat the giant reserves

Looks like they played a bunch of starters pretty much the whole time.
