agreed - Mcloughan is not perfect but he's a huge improvement over what we've had here and this franchise has a different feel about it since he and the new guys (coaches and FO staff, added since 2015) have come in
the Redskins franchise is no longer the NFL joke that it was in 2014 and early 2015
Jones injury is not as big a setback as some are trying to make it out to be - we have issues but in this division we will be competitive

I voted for the second option and to take it even further, get rid of Matt Jones.. he hasn't shown jack-spit except that he's really talented at fumbling the ball.

I know Jay has a pass first mentality however we need a 1000 yard back and Jay needs to have a viable running option, the pass to open up the running game is stupid. Especially when you have a QB that hasn't proven consistency. I hope to be wrong but I think the decision to allow Morris to go is going to bite us in the ass.
We have a 1,000+ yard back. He wears #22. You heard it here first.
Everett??

Jones practiced with a no contact jersey today. He will practice with contact later this week to determine whether or not he will start Monday night.

Now he wears #32. Robert Kelley.

BS - that's an old fashioned cliche - today's NFL offenses are a lot more complicated - all you need is a good QB and an OC that knows what weapons he's got and how best to attack the defense
Wrong. It's the new truth. The old cliche is that you must be able to run the ball. Does anyone pass every down ? Nope. Not even close. Because no OC thinks that's "how best way to attack the defense."
It's less about yards per carry and more about making the D honor the run.
Someone else said "viable threat." That's what we need.
We appear to have a viable threat.

Geez, DM, why do you always bring up these old threads? I was about to pick up Kelley in my fantasy leagues.

haha me too. By the way Jones started to gain some confidence finally a few times. The line is blocking really well right now.

Could this finally be the moment it all comes together? Last year it seemed like we had too much talent on the line not to be running better. We get to play a couple of very good defenses in our next set of games, so I guess we'll find out.

The real key here is Kouandjio. If he can hold his own they don't have to risk playing Trent Williams at guard and using their backup tackle as a starter.
Unfortunately, they are only one more injury away from a disastrous offensive line situation.

I heard Laovao was practicing today. Do you think Kouandjio will even stay in the lineup?

I never count a player as playing until I see him on the field. Do I think the team would rather have Lauvao playing? Absolutely. Kouandjio went from development project to starter due to injuries.

Seems to me Kouandjo played well. I would like to keep playing him until Laovao is fully healthy.

Redskin fans do not typically refer to Redskins as
they. That word is typically used for other teams while Redskins are referred to as Redskins or
we.
It was meant to be a light-hearted post concerning your use of
they even though your hande is Burgundy&GoldForever.

Yes, I was a bit slow on the uptake there.

Yeah I think we could but it is tricky because I think Matt Jones while running well I feel he is still too conscious of his fumbling problem. As soon as he kinda forgets that in the back of his mind and just run he will be alot better (while hopefully not fumbling with a new approach).

Matt Jones can be a beast... but he is NOT a short yardage between the tackles back... runs too upright, which causes him to be bounced backwards with hard contact, which, today, led to the fumble. He was literally stuffed every short yard play, which resulted in some very aggressive pass calls on 3rd and short, most of which did not work well.
