I was trying to.

“He was at that time the smartest player in the league. We did everything we could to try to eliminate him from the play. We knew if we didn’t neutralize him, then we had less of a chance of winning.” - John Hannah on Chris Hanburger
Re: A Bust?
I don't think that RG3 is a bust - a huge disappointment for sure but IMO he hasn't finished playing QB in the NFL yet
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)
Re: A Bust?
Men who are first or second round picks who fail to hold a starting job with a franchise are considered busts. If a team spends 3 firsts and a second round pick on a man who fails to hold a starting job he is a Griffin or Megabust the terms are synonymous. The disastrous selection is the equivalent of 4 busts, a blunder of historic proportions.
Re: A Bust?
^ typical BS - as those here with any sense have indicated - HUGE blunder by the Redskins FO but Robert Griffin III is not a bust ...

Agreed. Took a lot of heat back then: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=39606
Never quite understood the juxtaposition of "Operation Patience" and "All In For Week One."

As long as the blame can be placed on everyone else ... because that's what is truly important here.

nothing is "truly important" here, this is a site for Redskins fans, give me a break - RGIII is not a bust
He's in street clothes and inactive on game days. He couldn't be a bigger bust if he had silicone implants.

Re: A Bust?
You want bust? A more talented player has probably not hit the practice field than Joe Don Looney... and immediately got sent on his way. His talent was such that, no matter the tale, the next coach would convince himself that he was the one whom could tame this beast... all failed. Immediately.
One of my favorite Looney Tales...
His bust should be next to any definition of "bust"... and, probably for "uncoachable" as well...

Wikipedia wrote:Detroit traded Looney to the Washington Redskins, where he had an uneventful tenure. He had 55 carries for 178 yards. The only highlight of his time with the Redskins came on a play in which he didn't even have the ball. He was pass protecting for quarterback Sonny Jurgensen on a play, and ended up leveling an onrushing pass rusher with a right hook to the jaw.
