Re: La'el Collins?
If you draft a player who refuses to sign and play for you, and they hold out until the following year's draft, what happens to the draft pick you spent on them? Do you get an additional pick the following year or what? Is the team just screwed?

We don't know for sure, but we have some clues. The fact that he's not even a suspect, even after he talked to the police, tells us something. The tragedy is that a pregnant woman was murdered.
There are two tragedies here. One is incomparably worse, and I don't think there's anyone who is denying this. But it's also a shame for La'el Collins, assuming his innocence, that the timing of the murder cost him millions of dollars. This is one of those both-and situations, not an either-or.If theres any chance he did it. I certainly do not want him on my team. You guys have no clue if he did it or not. Yet you want to sign him?
If from all appearances it doesn't seem like he did, then yes, I do want to sign him. The guy is a huge talent, and just because he knew someone who was murdered does not mean he's suddenly not going to be a good addition to the team. For me I find it strange that his pregnant ex girlfriend is murdered. Jealousy? Who knows? Thats why I want to stay far away from this. Usually where there is smoke there is fire.
You chastise everyone for not assuming he's guilty, and then here you are attributing motives and implying his guilt based on circumstantial evidence? Who is really the one with no clue here?Im sure the NFL coaches and scouts have more information about the situation then we might have.
So most teams have stayed far away from him. I take that as a clue that we should stay away as well.
Actually, he's getting plenty of interest at the moment. I can guarantee you that. He will be signing with the team of his choice.
Like I said. If there is even a one percent chance that he was involved I stay far away from this guy.
You dont know if he did it or not? Neither do I? But the fact his ex girlfriend was murdered is enough for me to stay away from him. Without any evidence that he didnt do it. I dont want anything to do with him.
I guarantee you guys that GIbbs would stay far away from this guy if he were our GM and coach now.
Another subject but pertains to the subject. Police investigations without hard evidence the police cant do anything.
The only one who truly knows who did it is the murdered girl, the criminal who did it and God himself.
You think police investigations is the be all and end all. Please you know darn well thats not the truth.
Like I said. Unless someone is actually arrested for the crime and its proven that Laael himself did not do it. I want nothing to do with him.
Final conclusion for me. He signed with the Pukes.
My superior instincts kicked in and smelled a rat. I knew without knowing that this guy was a puke. I dont blame you I just have superior senses and instincts to you all. No sweat no harm no foul. Good day. I told you so thats all.
Sean Taylor starting free safety Heavens team!

That's ridiculous. Gibbs took his fair share of chances on players with questionable legal issues — with actual allegations of wrongdoing. You'll never convince me that he'd avoid someone altogether even if they weren't involved in anything shady.

Uh, no. That's not what I think.

Thank God you are not in charge of administering justice or carrying out personnel decisions for a team.

So perfect for the Cowboys though.
