^ I can dig that Riggo... at the end of the day I know we see things pretty similar.
Been a rough year.. the blame burger can feed all of DC.. and we both know some of its warranted and some of it is due to others inefficiencies. Eveyome has a "but" on this team and I guess I want someone to stand up and take the bullet. . Then magically fix everything else.
Delivering another beat down, like vs Jax, would surely go a long way for everyone vs one of these rivals.. it can happen!
Really tho,
Seeing Alfred become a nonfactor has been toughest of all pills to swallow this year.. While RG3 needs hope and prayers to become "The One" and is easier to give up on, Al was supposed to have already cemented himself as a top tier rb.. now hes least rated in the division- under a rookie nonetheless, when hes supposed to smash all of Riggins and Portis' records on our way to titles and glory!

We now know that Gruden is here and I'm not convinced that Gruden wants Griffin out of here
we shall see ...
we have 2 weeks left in a 16 game season that most of us thought for sure we would win al least 6 games and possibly 9 - the reality is we are nowhere near as good as we thought we were and we're not even close to having a team that we can be very proud of
someone will hopefully be allowed to come in here and help this HC put together a group of coaches and players that can be a team we can be proud of but that is almost certainly going to take changing the way we've done things in the past and changing the faces of the guys in charge of making critical decisions - it is definitely going to take more than 1 season to do this and maybe 3
the point is - what's the rush? we have 3 QBs - let's try and help each of them be the best they can be
I know who I think will end up being the best QB here and if it isn't him it almost certainly isn't one of the other 2

Local media members are convinced that Gruden is done with Griffin AND Cousins. FWIW, I tweeted John Keim about Gruden being done with Cousins/Griffin and he said Gruden is not done with Cousins and left it at that.

^ if thats true... then it would appear Gruden prefers to keep Kirk out of the danger of fielding snaps behind this porous oline over giving him the much needed game time experience. * Wouldn't shock me. I wouldnt want "my guy" out there getting teed off on either

I'm with you 100%, man. This has been a horrible season, but just showing up vs. Philly or Dallas would be a big deal. Actually winning one of those games and ruining a playoff shot for one of those teams would be good for my soul.

Gruden made a comment about Kirk in his presser soon: ""I know he'll get a chance
somewhere soon."
Feel free to parse and over analyze that one.

according to the press reports the past 2 or 3 weeks, Gruden list of preference for finishing this season were McCoy, Cousins & Griffin
as far as next season is concerned it sounds like he'd like to see Cousins as the #1 and McCoy as the #2 - Griffin is not looked at by Gruden as being worth spending much more time on
IMO it looks like Gruden is leaving it up to Griffin to show that he is worth taking another look at but I don't think they will let him go to another team until May at the earliest
with all of the issues we have and the fact that McVay and Gruden are obviously in a better place to gauge Griffin's progress, I'm kind of surprised that Griffin has not shown these guys that he's worth working with ...
only time will tell ...

"worth working with".....? that's a good one.
Perhaps, just perhaps, Bob ain't cut out for the NFL. ALA: Ryan Leaf......?

Gruden has to stay, IMO, but firing him would be classic Tiny. This is a job no one wants. Career killer to step into the joke building known as Redskin Park. Yes, drafting Braids set the franchise back 10 years, but WTH, Tiny had already run it into the ground anyway.

OK - I'm not going to say "I told you so ..." but ... this is from ESPN ...
ASHBURN, Va. -- On Tuesday, quarterback Robert Griffin III explained his rationale for staying off social media. He was tired of having his words twisted or scanned for deeper meanings.
A day later, his coach expressed a similar sentiment.
When Jay Gruden was asked about outside perceptions of his relationship with Griffin, he said he didn't have any. But Gruden also said regardless of what he says about Griffin, it gets taken to an extreme.
"No matter what I say about Robert, it's going to get twisted one way or the other. If I say he is doing great, it's going to be I am too easy on him," Gruden said. "If I say he needs to work harder, it means I said he's lazy. If I said he needs to work on his fundamentals, it means I don't like him."
Griffin will start Saturday's game against Philadelphia, his first start since being benched after the Nov. 23 game at San Francisco.
Gruden's words often haven't been necessary to twist. He's been direct about the state of Griffin's game on multiple occasions this season, none more so than the day after a 27-7 loss to Tampa Bay on Nov. 16.
"Robert had some fundamental flaws," Gruden said then. "His footwork was below average. He took three-step drops when he should have taken five. He took a one-step drop when he should have taken three, on a couple occasions, and that can't happen. He stepped up when he didn't have to step up and stepped into pressure. He read the wrong side of the field a couple times. So from his basic performance, just critiquing Robert, it was not even close to being good enough to what we expect from the quarterback position."
Later that same week, Gruden told NFL.com that Griffin had been coddled for a long time -- due to his success -- and that "he's auditioned long enough. Clock's ticking."
Gruden also referred to Griffin in that interview as "very raw. Very raw."
But Gruden has realized there's an intense interest in Griffin and any comments about him get parsed for extra meaning. That's why for Gruden the focus is on just coaching the player.
At 3-11, Gruden knows he can't worry about perceptions, he must worry about results.
"I've got a ton of respect for Robert, man, and for what he goes through at the quarterback position, what he has already accomplished as a young quarterback and what he is going to accomplish in the future," Gruden said. "How we coach them in here is how we coach him, but we can't let the outside world affect what we do in here. And the whole idea of coach/player relationship is to get better every day and work on our game, work on what I do, work on what I can do to make him better and that's the bottom line. That's all we can do, that's all we want to do."
It's par for the course in this town and all over as far as our sports fans and sports reporting goes - the media is going to try and put whatever spin they can on things and the more the facts can be stretched, the better ...
I'm sure that a lot of 'reports' out of the locker rooms are like this and in a way that's what reporters have to do - if they just report what was said and don't 'interpret' the fans will not be as interested - that's the reporters job - report and interpret
a lot of it gets blown out of proportion and that is why we finally see the coach and the QB say "enough"
I don't think that Gruden is as down on Griffin as is being reported and I don't think Griffin is as far away from being a good QB as is being reported - I'm sure there are grounds for the rumors but I understand that is the reporters' job - I don't like it but that's the way it is especially in this town and with the QBs that play with the Redskins
no doubt - Griffin needs to improve the way he plays but IMO he's going to be here with Gruden for a little while longer
I still think that of the 3 QBs, Griffin offers the most upside but I also know that he's got a lot of work to do to be the #1 QB here

There's no question that the media (and fans) parse every single thing the coach and Griffin say. And no question they infer things that aren't true and twist words to fit certain ideas and narratives. This isn't anything new, and its certainly not surprising in a political town like DC.
I still have to look at Gruden's actions this season. The whole Colt McCoy thing says a lot more to me about what he thinks about Griffin than anything he has said in a press conference.

Maybe Gruden didnt want Cousins or Griffin to get hurt behind this patchwork undersized oline?
I just cant see him being done with Cousins and so up on McCoy.. watching him for Cleveland and seeng Kirk perform above average at times in the past to just givng up on Kirk and going all in on Colt- next year is still undecided on all three qbs imo.
Fwiw Co0ley and Gruden were pointing out how Griffin did a great job gong through his progressions reading the safety to make the right choice vs NYG. Both seemed to praise his ability when he HAS TIME. Time behind this line is not a given... hopefully coach devised a way to find some vs Philthy tomorrow

If I had to choose one or the other Id choose RG3. Why would I trust a one year head coach. No freaking way. But it seems both will be back. So like we all have been saying the Oline must be upgraded.
One thing for sure is RG3 has had to eat some humble pie this season. I am sure it will do him some good and make him work harder.

This is certainly possible, with regards to keeping Cousins inactive...perhaps Gruden doesn't want him to become the next Patrick Ramsey?
But with regards to Griffin, it's pretty telling that he started a guy with a NECK injury behind a shaky line that is known for giving up a ton of sacks.

my money is still on the #2 guy though

Why are you referring to him as #2? Are you trying to say Cousins is #1? Bc McCoy is on IR
