I look for the defense to have a solid game with Rak, Kerrigan & Co spending much time in thier backfield.
I don't know what to think about the offense. I sincerely hope Cousins has belief in himself and can shrug off last weeks performance. What I hope even greater for is sustaned use of Alfred Morris. I am sick and tired of watching the staff go into panic if they get behind and abandon the run.
Go Skins

I'm not expecting to win and I don't think Deadskins is either. If we can get some TOs early and not shoot ourselves in the foot, anything can happen on any given game day. How many times have we lost to teams we should have beat? It happens to other teams too.

I'll watch the game, but I fully expect us to lose by 20+ points.

Every time we get one of these night time, nationally televised games I get all geeked up. Get a bunch of food together, beers on ice, all that good stuff. Then always seem to find myself going to bed before the third quarter of a blowout game.

I'm not doing any of that stuff tonight. It would be nice to be surprised, but its hard to imagine how we win this game.

I'm glad you quoted grampi, or I would have never seen that idiotic response to my post. How many times, over the past 20 years, have we lost game after game to crappy teams, only to beat the eventual SB champion? The Redskins consistantly win games just like this one, even when they are having double-digit loss seasons. My post had nothing to do with optimism, I was simply pointing out that this is precisely the kind of game that we seem to win, even while we get smoked by teams that we should easily beat.

In the past 10 years we have a record of 4-11 on Monday or Thursday games and a 5-13 record if you include Saturday games. I am not sure what our record is if you include Sunday night games, however. Our regular season record in those 10 years as been 61-99.

That is a MON-THURS 26.6% winning rate vs. a 39.3% winning rate in Sunday/Saturday games.

In all honesty, this means nothing considering the turnover in both personnell, coaching, and FO --- just thought it would give everyone a good idea as to how we have fared in Monday and Thursday games -- which is pretty "dump-y".

All that stuff is true, but I understand what Deadskins is saying. There's no reason at all to expect us to win tonight, but that doesn't mean we won't.

Count me in - I don't expect us to win but I do expect to see a good effort from the coaches and the players

we can lose the next 2 games - the important thing is we show that we can be a better team than we showed in the last game

I saw the NFC East play this weekend - we need to show that we are a better team than they are because we can be ...

actually the first step is for everybody to do their jobs well - the wins against the teams we should beat will happen ...

we might even win some games against the better teams - it happens all the time

In the future, I'd prefer if you left your facts and statistics at home, thanks. #-o

I'll take the 7.5. They're not gonna get torched two weeks in a row. Historically they play well in games they're supposed to get whacked in. I always think about 2000 when they played the greatest show on turf in St. Louis...and won. Still can't believe that happened.

I think I wrote a few days ago that if we couldn't get a win v. the Seahawks, I just wanted the team to go out and there and not embarrass themselves or us. Show some pride. For the most part I think they did that last night. (Although I had my doubts watching Wilson gash us for 100 yards in the first two series.)

It looked really bad at first, but when you look at the whole game it was not so bad ...

admittedly the seahawks shot themselves in the foot a bunch of times but that's football

If we keep playing with that sort of effort we'll be fine ... AND we now know that the giants game was an aberration

I know why you're saying that. Its embarrassing that we can't kick the ball out of the endzone on a kickoff. Still they didn't miss any potentially game winning field goals. Didn't give up a kickoff return for a touchdown thirty seconds after we've scored. THAT stuff was embarrassing. Last night they just weren't very good.

I know exactly what you're saying. I heard one of the tv guys comment that a lot of the Seahawks starters play on special teams, and they DEMAND to play on special teams. Gotta admit that is pretty cool.

We made SEA punt 6 times and we had zero yards on punt return. SEA kicked off 6 times and we had 5 yards on kick return.

SEA had 54 yards on punt return.

Here are our kickoffs - where they landed and where SEA started:

15 to 35

12 to 29

44 to 44

Endzone (OMFG!) to 20 on touchback. Was this a directional kick that almost went OB?

No, it actually went about 8 yards deep in the center third of the field. That proves that Kai can actually kick it that far (maybe it was wind aided?), I just don't understand why he is so inconsistent. And you can't hold the onside kick's field position against him. The other two, I totally agree.

Though this is true the fact that we even pondered an onside kick was due, at least in part, to the prior pooches which, in turn stemmed from an, ahem, overworked groin.

BTW - I'm holding this all against, ahem, the staff.

Honestly, I can't help but wonder why we don't just bring Hocker back. The guy can handle the kickoffs, and Forbath proved vs. the Eagles that he's going to miss some kicks.

Its not very likely that we're going to the playoffs this year. Why not break the young kicker in and quit shooting yourselves in the foot on every kickoff?

All he can really do is drill it through low. if dude catches it 8 yards deep on a line drive he'll get to the 30 before he sniffs a tackler. Plus, double duty is a good way to wear out a leg/groin.
