Could it also be that Chip isn't used to the collegiate playing field and not dealing with pro players as adults? Andy Reid dealt with Jackson just fine, but Chip can't? I dunno...

Maybe Chip and Djax just didn't get along. To slander him would be stuping too low. Why would he risk that on his rep? I figure there is a little truth to it all.

Can't help but wonder how practice would go with him & DHall against each other. I know Hall said he'd like to take him under his wing, but I'll always be wondering when we'll get a "report" of the two of them fighting at practice.

Anyway, I don't like him, but I would be curious to see what the team becomes with him. He's a definite difference maker. I guess it all depends on how well he'll respond to Gruden (who, as we know, is a real no BS kind of coach)

And he supposedly threw up a gang sign in a game against the Redskins last season:

If Jackson was a generally over-rated player I might agree with you. A lot of our acquisitions have made me cringe, because I could just imagine seeing them standing on the sidelines in sweatpants for the majority of their time in Washington. I don't get that feeling with Jackson. Maybe he's played some of his better games against NFC East opponents, which is about the only time I really see him, but he's always lit it up when I've seen him on the field.

Don't want him for a few reasons:

1) Knucklehead;
2) Injury risk;
2) Prima dona; and
3) Will want a lot of money.

We need to spend our remaining cap on linemen...

I know all the talking heads are saying, we need more WRs but I think we have too many other needs to spend more cap space on WR. Protect our franchise QB this year, with better lineman, and get another toy next year.

No thanks.

Ok, but who exactly are you going to spend that remaining cap money on? Which exceptional lineman is still out there that we should sign? And how many average/middling linemen are we planning to carry on our roster?

I'm in complete agreement with you about addressing the line as much as possible and protecting RGIII. I just don't think that argument has anything to do with signing DeSean Jackson at this point.

1. What is your definition of a "knucklehead" and what proof do you have other than these BS fabrications that the national media outlets now seem to be backing away from?
2. Injury risk? How so? I researched it and can't find any information about him being injury prone.
3. This is true.
4. He will want it, but he'll only get what the market values him at.

Haven't we acquired at least 3 linemen thus far in free agency? Do you want 10 more linemen? Do you think we have have unlimited roster sizes? Isn't there still a draft? Won't there be additional releases AFTER the draft? Not wanting Jackson is a fair opinion but where are the facts?

I'd send Hankerson packing and replace his height with a fresh talent.

YOU WON'T GET ANY ARGUMENTS FROM THIS GUY !!
=D>
LOVE SANTANA THOUGH, AND IF HE HAS TO GO AS A RESULT OF DJAX I'LL LIVE WITH IT.
THE POSSIBILITIES OF RG3 GARCON AND DJAX ARE WORTH IT, AS MUCH AS I LOVE SANTANA AND EVERYTHING HE DID FOR US, IT'S A SMALL PRICE.
OF COURSE THOUGH, I'M 100% ALL IN FOR KEEPING HIM AND DROPPING WHOEVER ELSE... NO ONE IMO PROVED THEY ARE WORTH KEEPING.

One HUGE thing that hurt the Redskins and was underreported, was that Mike NEVER EVER practiced broken plays. NEVER. Seattle does it. San Fran does it. Philly does it. Pitt does it. When you have a QB that can improvise, you have to practice it. And our WR's RARELY bailed our QB out, because they didn't know where to go, or what RGIII was going to do.

In Jackson, you have a player that is used to doing JUST THAT... He knows what to do when his QB breaks from the pocket and will exploit the defense accordingly. That'll be huge. That's something new rookie WR is going to do where we're picking in the draft.

This is a real case of 'my heart says yes but my head says no'.

I'd LOVE to see DJax in that offense, it would give DCs nightmares for weeks trying to plan against RG3, Morris, Garcon, Roberts, Reed & DJax! Alfred Morris would rack up 1,000 yards by week 8 with so many men in coverage!!!

But -

This is a deep draft for WRs as everyone has commented. Would it not be wiser, given DJax's 'attitude' issues (late for meetings, 'not trying his hardest' etc), to look there..? What rookie head coach wants a potential headache like that when you've already got the media circus that is RGIII to handle...?

We can push the cap hit back for this year but that's still a lot of $$$ locked into one position with the $10m or so Garcon is set to get as well.

So to me it represents a gamble. We can address that position in the draft, have the new coaching staff work on Aldrick's game to see if we can get more out of him, and save the money for an experienced FS or OL as and when a good one becomes available - which may be next season.

Still, "RGIII to Desean Jackson - TOUCHDOWN!" has a great ring to it....

Now these are legitimate concerns. This is where your FO (Bruce, Gruden & Doug) comes into play. They brought Doug Williams in to mentor these kids. Will they be able to discern if he's ready to mature? Do they believe Garcon and Moss can mentor him?

And the media? Yuck. Chris Russel is already in full swing, very annoying.[/quote]

1. I know you're excited by lay off of the caps lock.

2. Aldrick is a player to watch. I too am curious to see what he can do. To your point though, they're two different types of players. Aldrick doesn't have the wiggle in his step. DJax is similar to Garcon, just smaller/lighter and thusly less aggressive but faster.
