First, it's Keim's point, not Red's. Second he's saying Shanny wasn't happy about the play like Eugene Sims was. I don't understand your righteous indignation.SkinsJock wrote:i'm not sure i understand - all those hi-lited, are players - Mike Shanahan is a coach - what's your point here?Red_One43 wrote:Keim on Ram's Dirty Play
…Yes, the Rams did a lot of extracurricular activity after the play. No, I’m not going to point out each one. On the intentional grounding penalty, Jo-Lunn Dunbar pressed on Griffin’s helmet as he was on the ground. I saw Laurinaitis a few times either lay too long on Morris or grab onto his ankle as he stood up (he laid on Santana Moss, too). On the third play of the fourth quarter Finnegan jawed with Morgan after the play, even though the former wasn’t involved in it. On the Redskins’ next series Laurinaitis held Morgan’s foot a little longer than appreciated. Another time in the fourth quarter Finnegan ran up to the play as it was ending and shoved Kory Lichtentsteiger hard in the back. An unnecessary shot as ‘Steiger had slowed and the play had stopped. Finnegan dove at Griffin as he slid – starting his dive after Griffin had started to slide. Point is, it happened all game and a couple times with Morgan. The Rams were baiting the Redskins and eventually they reeled in Morgan.
… After Morgan’s 15-yard penalty, defensive end Eugene Sims stood about five yards away and applauded in his direction. Mike Shanahan was not doing the same.

+ saying Fisher always has his team play aggressive is a bogus cop out man... London plays aggressive, Kerrigan, d hall etc etc.. Sean Taylor and LL were the more aggressive types playing super physical andto the brink of what's ALLOWED in the confines of the rule book.
What these hacks did was go for grimey tactics just as bad or worse then the GW bounty system. It made the game terrible to watch and took away from the sport.
I'm all for flapn gums until the refs break it up.. laying big hits and maybe striking a quick pose.. all types of aggression within the rules. What happened Sunday was like watching a football team play in a second rate hockey league w no refs.. or some kinda let's kill everyone street game only the other team thinks its NFL and then gets called for losing it and throwing a BALL when the other team has been trying to inflick injury, hitting late, hitting illegally, and oh ya doing a cannon ball onto a player on the ground- who didn't have the ball!
Ya and Fisher is a great coach? Shake my motha Fn head man

we all understand that Jeff Fisher has ALWAYS been a VERY aggressive coach and he surely got his players motivated for this week after what happened last week in Detroit - that's his job
the players have all seen that the refs are not going to make the calls = whose fault is it ....

Thanks Red_One - it does clear it up and I agree - The Rams played more aggressively and were dirtier than the Redskins
I'm not indignant about anything - I'm just really pissed off that the refs did not take firmer control of the game at the outset
my point is that this is a violent game and IMO the Rams players came in with an incredible attitude after beating the Lions but not getting the win
the players were doing that because the refs allowed it to continue to happen - the dirty plays could have & should have been stopped in the first series that we had the ball
I will say that the defensive coaches are going to continue to encourage their players to get away with anything they can - there were many instances of dirty play across the NFL in the last 2 weeks

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Stepping on downed players ankles, flopping on downed line backers, and hitting to the head of our te wasn't aggressive or dirty... It was malicious with unsportsman like intent to injure other players- even if just for a few downs. I'd like to know if any of those wuss bags got fined for doing that gutless crap. Next time we see them in a game first person that takes any cheap/illegal/unsportsmenlike/malicious hits to our Qb should have a bounty on them. Put in D Young or someone to hit stick their ass!
Luckily Shanny is more professional then me. I prolly woulda put in a reserve D line player on O to smear Finnegin or any of his his grimey team mates.

Yeah you, Sean Peyton and Gregg Williams...... nice. You can add me to that list also.
Regardless, their gutless crap helped win them the game. It got in our players heads. Besides, the STL players don't care about fines; all they're concerned with is getting the W -- which they did.
RIP Sean Taylor. You will be missed.

I just heard Fisher on NFL Radio say, he's an extremely talented athlete those qb draws are hard to stop, but when he tucks it and runs he's a runner and should expect to be tackled like one...Redskin in Canada wrote:Two sides of this story:

Ok cool. He's talkin about getting his head shoved into the ground, ankles ande wrists, stepped on after the whistle. He's also talkin about the malicious LATE hits after the play, be it to him after a throw or to his TE.. even to D players. If you watch the film its clear they were (as a team) playing dirty. Even by old NFL standards. Watch the tape is alls I got to say. Wonder if Shanny will reply, sure he will be asked to.

Fixed it for you... Bottom line, the post whistle "play" was pretty much incessant on the Rams side of the LOS... That's what Griffin is talking about... the Rams can pretend all they want... the film doesn't lie.Redskin in Canada wrote:One side of this story... and one line of crap:

The NFL watched the film and like you said it didn't lie...You know, I played two plays, but from what I saw I would completely agree,” Carriker said. “I don’t know, but it looked like they’re coached to play that way. I don’t know if that’s the truth, but that’s just what it looked like. I mean, I saw [London Fletcher] on the ground, the O-lineman jumps on him.
“You know, there were guys on the sideline talking about the guy was twisting my ankle under the pile, or this guy was talking about I’m gonna take your knees out after a play. Some guys said it was the dirtiest game they’d ever played in. And I’d never seen anything quite like it, just because it looked like they could explode at any second.”
It said: CB Janoris Jenkins needed to be fined $15,750.00, for his hit on Fred Davis, DE Robert Quinn needs to cough up $7,875 for a hit to the head of Trent Williams and they also figured that G Quinn Ojinaka should match that $7,875 for a late hit on London Fletcher.

You took me too literally. I didn't mean we could hire the actual working refs away from their jobs. But aren't there college refs who are retired? And college refs don't work Sundays, couldn't we work a deal? The ones the are using are so bad, it almost seems like the owners are sabotaging themselves. I'd think they'd want to show the refs they can live without them, not that they can't. After all the hoopla the refs can't even be considering giving an inch right now but they want to wait it out and see if it keeps getting worse.Deadskins wrote:They are from division 3. I think the owners may want it this way on purpose. The are trying to show the union that the refs really don't matter. The NFL is so popular, they can even put refs this bad on the field and the fans will still watch.

Well, that doesn't really explain why Jackson was on the bench while RGIII was throwing and running for touchdowns.Redskin in Canada wrote: Steven Jackson to Robert Griffin III: 'It's not the Big 12'

Hmm. No fine for the forearm/elbow to RGIII's head?1niksder wrote:The NFL watched the film and like you said it didn't lie...

And if the league was willing to fine $15k for an illegal hit on Fred Davis, I wonder why the refs couldn't be bothered to throw a 15-yard flag on the play.

I think they were intimidated by the whole situation and were not prepared to be booed relentlessly by the fans. I am not excusing it, but it was a tough situation for them to be in.Irn-Bru wrote:And if the league was willing to fine $15k for an illegal hit on Fred Davis, I wonder why the refs couldn't be bothered to throw a 15-yard flag on the play.

My thoughts exactly about the elbow to the RGIII's head by Dunbar. A comment on Carriker's quote about looking like the players were coached to play that way - There is no "looking" about it. Fischer coaches them to "intimidate" anyway they can within the Refs' tolerance. Remember Finnegan from the Titan days. Fischer never reined him in. He is not going to do it now. As long as the refs don't call it, the Rams will continue to play that way, but it's a long season, and you reap what you sow.1niksder wrote:Adam Carriker didn't watch the film but he agrees with you.Countertrey wrote:Fixed it for you...
